The average sales price of new orders also saw a decrease, settling at $437,100, which is 5% lower than the previous year.

On the other hand, the cancellation rate improved to 15%, down from 17% year-on-year. However, settlements for the second quarter fell by 8%, totaling 5,058 units compared to 5,475 units in 2025. The average settlement price was reported at $450,700, a 3% decrease from the same quarter last year.

NVR’s backlog of homes increased by 9% on a unit basis, reaching 10,998 units, and experienced a 5% rise in dollar value to $4.99 billion compared to the previous year.

Mortgage Banking Results


In the mortgage banking segment, closed loan production totalled $1.35 billion, reflecting a 13% decrease from the $1.55 billion reported in the second quarter of 2025. The segment earned an income before tax of $25.4 million, down 14% from the $29.6 million achieved last year.
