Landline Introduces Straight to Gate Service Connecting Sonoma County and SFO for Hassle-Free Travel

Streamlining Travel: Landline’s New Straight to Gate Service

In an innovative move set to redefine convenience for travelers, Landline has teamed up with Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport (STS) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to roll out the ‘Straight to Gate’ service starting November 17. This groundbreaking initiative enables passengers flying with top airlines—such as United, Alaska, Hawaiian, American, and JetBlue—to check in, drop off their luggage, and clear TSA security directly at STS before they board a premium motorcoach that takes them straight to the secure area of SFO.

A New Era for Bay Area Travelers

For residents in Sonoma County, this service brings a level of convenience that many have been seeking. No longer will travelers have to navigate the often-daunting SFO airport procedures. They can now embark on their journey from their local airport, thus bypassing the hustle and bustle associated with major international terminals.

As travelers arrive at STS, they can check their bags and pass through security screenings, ensuring that the tedious processes are finished long before they board their bus. Upon arrival at SFO, passengers will be able to walk directly into the terminal to their gate, with their luggage already on its way to the aircraft.

Comfort and Accessibility on Board

The Landline motorcoaches offer a comfortable travel experience. With spacious leather seats arranged in a 2x1 configuration, providing ample legroom, travelers can sit back and relax. Each coach is equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi, power outlets at every seat, and onboard restrooms, ensuring passengers are well serviced throughout their ride. Furthermore, accessibility is a priority, with all coaches being wheelchair accessible, thus catering to a diverse range of travelers.

Efficient Scheduling to Suit Travelers’ Needs

Starting from mid-November, the service is set to operate with eight round trips daily. Departures from STS will occur at 5, 7, 9, 11 AM, and then again at 1, 3, 5:30, and 8 PM. On the return journey, passengers taking flights back to STS from SFO can catch the Landline bus outside each terminal, providing a seamless transition from air travel back to their local area.

Ticketing is straightforward and economical, with one-way fares priced at $55 per adult and children aged 15 and under riding free with a paying adult. As a result, managing trip costs while enjoying enhanced services has never been easier. Travelers can make reservations at sfo.landline.com, where an intuitive booking tool suggests ideal coach departure times based on their SFO flight schedules.

Statements from Industry Leaders

David Sunde, Founder and CEO of Landline, expressed excitement about the launch, stating, "People love traveling. What they don't love is everything it takes to get to the airport. Straight to Gate connects it to SFO's global network, so trips to anywhere in the world can start close to home." His sentiments reflect a growing industry recognition of the importance of convenience in travel logistics.

Jon Stout, the Airport Manager at STS, heralded the synergy that this service creates, reinforcing that STS is regarded as the most accessible airport option in the Bay Area. He added that Landline's initiative significantly broadens the travel horizon for local passengers, providing them with various domestic and international flight options.

Mike Nakornkhet, the SFO Airport Director, emphasized the holistic travel experience that this new service aims to cultivate, effectively reducing the complexity of air travel and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Long-Term Vision of Landline

This launch of the ‘Straight to Gate’ service substantially builds on methodologies initiated by similar systems in other locations, such as Massport's remote terminal at Logan Airport. The service not only eases current travel dilemmas but also aligns with Landline's larger vision of transforming the airport experience by integrating it into local communities. They are committed to expanding this model across North America, aiming to make air travel more accessible and user-friendly for all.

With Landline at the helm, the future of travel within Northern California promises to be both seamless and enjoyable—starting from the moment you leave home to the second you arrive at your destination. The ‘Straight to Gate’ service is a vital step towards making air travel more practical and enjoyable for all residents of Sonoma County and beyond.
