Cognizant and SITA Join Forces for Cloud-Based Financial Transformation
Cognizant, a leading provider of technology and consulting services, has been entrusted by SITA, the premier specialist in air transport technology, to spearhead a major financial transformation initiative. This collaboration aims to leverage artificial intelligence and cloud technologies to establish a modern financial platform tailored to the needs of SITA, which operates globally in over 200 countries and territories.
In an announcement made on October 6, 2026, Cognizant revealed its selection as a strategic partner for SITA's SKY program. This ambitious, finance-led initiative is designed to overhaul SITA's financial operations, transforming traditional processes into a data-driven and innovation-focused system that will yield measurable business value.
The transformation is set to go beyond basic reporting and operational functions. Both teams from Cognizant and SITA are committed to evolving the finance division into a strategic partner that prioritizes growth and agility. By employing a cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) management platform, they intend to integrate financial, procurement, and supply chain processes into a unified system. This will allow for enhanced planning capabilities, earlier identification of opportunities, and streamlined resource allocation focused on SITA’s growth objectives.
Cognizant's approach is embedded in an “AI-first” strategy, combining extensive expertise in financial transformation with deployment agents that utilize generative AI grounds developed from over 800 cloud ERP projects. The proposed solution will harness AI functionalities from a built-in platform and customized agents developed on Cognizant’s agent-based AI technology. This integration will support decision-making processes in planning, forecasting, project management, and daily financial activities, enabling SITA to expedite implementation and tap into the potential of AI across its financial, procurement, and project management workflows.
Nicolas Husson, SITA's CFO, expressed that "the SKY program is aimed at delivering strong business outcomes." He emphasized the importance of standardizing their core processes with Oracle Fusion Cloud and embedding AI into everyday operations to cultivate a responsive financial organization, laying the groundwork for future growth.
Saket Gulati, Senior Vice President and Head of Northern Europe at Cognizant, highlighted SITA's critical role in the global air transport ecosystem. He pointed out the necessity for a corporate platform that evolves in tandem with business demands, emphasizing that technology and AI should facilitate strategy rather than dictate it. By merging their cloud platform expertise, AI competencies, and experience in transformational processes, Cognizant aims to help SITA create a robust foundation for data and operational models, establish new ways of working, and convert technology investments into growth and measurable business value.
Roshan Subudhi, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Markets - Intelligent Enterprise Platforms at Cognizant, added that corporate platforms serve as the backbone of global organizations. He underscored that the SKY program exemplifies what can be achieved when this backbone is redesigned for the AI-oriented landscape, modernizing systems and reshaping collaboration among finance, procurement, and supply chain teams to enable faster progress in making informed, large-scale decisions.
