Cognizant Partners with SITA for a Global Financial Transformation
Cognizant Technology Solutions, listed on Nasdaq under the ticker CTSH, has recently announced its selection by SITA, the world leader in air transport technology, to spearhead a significant global finance transformation initiative. This ambitious project, termed the SKY program, is driven by SITA’s finance function and aims to modernize its entire financial, procurement, and supply chain processes using advanced cloud technologies and artificial intelligence (AI).
The Scope of Transformation
Targeting an extensive operational framework across more than 200 countries and territories, the transformation is designed to surpass conventional financial reporting and operational processing. It seeks to establish a data-centric, innovative, and growth-oriented financial function. This collaborative effort will enable SITA to implement a comprehensive cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and management platform, which will integrate functions such as financial planning, performance management, project management, and procurement into a single cohesive system.
By leveraging a shared database and uniform workflows, SITA anticipates enhancing its planning capabilities, identifying opportunities more promptly, and aligning its resources closely with its growth priorities. The ultimate goal is to create measurable business value throughout SITA’s global operations.
AI-Driven Approach to Financial Management
Cognizant’s AI-driven strategy integrates deep expertise in financial transformation along with generative AI implementation. Drawing upon its experience from over 800 cloud ERP projects, Cognizant aims to harness the integrated AI features and tailor-made agents from its AI capabilities to embed intelligence into SITA’s planning, forecasting, project management, and day-to-day financial operations. This will significantly accelerate the implementation process and enhance the effectiveness of SITA’s financial and procurement processes.
Nicolas Husson, the Chief Financial Officer of SITA, emphasized the importance of the SKY program, expressing, “This transformation is designed to yield strong business outcomes. By standardizing essential processes on the Oracle Fusion Cloud and integrating AI into our operations, we aspire to create a more agile financial organization and lay a solid foundation for our next phase of growth.”
Driving Growth through Intelligent Platforms
Saket Gulati, Cognizant’s Senior Vice President for Northern Europe, noted the critical role SITA plays within the global air transport ecosystem. He stated, “The growth of SITA necessitates a business platform that can evolve alongside its operations, ensuring technology and AI serve to implement the strategic vision rather than dictate it.”
In addition to modernizing operational systems, Cognizant’s collaboration is aimed at rethinking the collaborative processes among financial, procurement, and supply chain teams, enabling the organization to act faster and make more informed decisions on a larger scale.
Roshan Subudhi, Senior Vice President and Global Leader for Intelligent Enterprise Platforms at Cognizant, remarked on the transformative potential of such enterprise platforms, stating, “The SKY program is an excellent instance of what can be achieved when operational backbones are reimagined for an AI-focused world.”
