Supporting Local Companies Facing Labor Shortages at High School Employment Seminar

Addressing Labor Shortages: Reporting on the High School Employment Seminar

On June 1, 2026, Jinjib, a company dedicated to supporting high school students’ employment, took part as a speaker at the High School Employment Seminar held by the Matsubara Chamber of Commerce. This event brought together 11 member companies that are grappling with the challenges of labor shortages, talent development, and management risks.

Jinjib aims to continue supporting individual consultation meetings for various Chambers of Commerce nationwide, helping local SMEs tackle their hiring challenges while showcasing the allure of local businesses to the younger generation. This initiative is designed to provide young people with potential career openings.

Background of the Event

As Japan faces a declining labor force, the challenges of labor shortages and early turnover among hires have become critical issues for SMEs. The Matsubara area, with major transportation routes intersecting, is home to many appealing SMEs that support manufacturing and logistics. However, due to its proximity to Osaka City and the attractiveness of urban work opportunities, there is a risk of young talent flowing away, leading to a potential gap in the transmission of skills and knowledge.

In an effort to address these issues, the Matsubara Chamber of Commerce and Matsubara Employment Development Association organized this seminar, drawing on Jinjib’s proven experience in high school employment support to provide insights and guidance. During the seminar, we discussed strategies for being an appealing choice for high school graduates and effective communication methods. Notably, Tokyo Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. shared their knowledge regarding the impact of securing talent on corporate management and insights on organizational development. The event aimed to share practical tips for local companies to attract and retain young talent while ensuring sustainable growth.

In light of increasing labor shortages, SMEs need to diversify their recruitment channels and strengthen the retention capabilities of hired talent. This seminar aimed to contribute to alleviating the human resource shortages of member companies of the Matsubara Chamber of Commerce and support their sustained growth in collaboration with Jinjib. During our segment, we provided insights gathered from our operational investigations related to BCP, creating a visual representation of issues from recruitment through retention.
