Empowering Visually Impaired Students: The Touchpoint Initiative by LC Sign

Empowering Visually Impaired Students at Qiming School

In a groundbreaking effort to enhance accessibility, LC Sign, a leader in custom signage manufacturing, has successfully completed an innovative project at Qiming School, a prestigious institution dedicated to visually impaired students in China. By designing, producing, and installing a total of 631 high-quality braille signs across the school campus, LC Sign has significantly improved the students’ ability to navigate their educational environment safely and independently.

The installation of these advanced braille signs marks the official launch of The Touchpoint Initiative (TPI), LC Sign's corporate social responsibility program aimed at promoting inclusive and universally accessible environments. This initiative is set to revolutionize the experience of visually impaired learners by providing them with the tools they need to thrive.

Prior to this initiative, students at Qiming relied on temporary braille tapes that were often fragile, unclear, and easily damaged, leading to difficulties in navigation and a lack of confidence in their surroundings. Recognizing this challenge, LC Sign collaborated closely with special education professionals and accessibility consultants to ensure that each new sign met the highest standards of tactile accuracy and durability. The innovative designs feature optimized braille for easier reading, highly contrasting yellow borders for better visibility, and premium acrylic materials built to withstand regular use in challenging public environments.

A Long-Term Commitment to Accessibility

The Touchpoint Initiative represents LC Sign’s long-term commitment to accessibility that goes beyond mere philanthropy. The company is dedicated to replicating and expanding the TPI model, aiming to develop accessible wayfinding solutions for educational institutions, hospitals, public transport facilities, and more. By championing universal design and higher industry standards, LC Sign aspires to inspire other manufacturers and organizations to embed accessibility and empathy into all aspects of their operations and product development.

Anne L., CEO of LC Sign, stated, “At LC Sign, we believe that signage should be a bridge to independence. The Qiming School project exemplifies how the fusion of innovation and empathy can create environments where everyone can thrive.” This initiative is a testament to LC Sign’s unwavering integrity, engineering excellence, and dedication to positive social change—a reputation that has made the company a trusted source for high-quality inclusive signage solutions for over a decade.
