SINEXCEL and Phoenix Contact Unveil Groundbreaking 1280kW Charging System at Power2Drive

SINEXCEL and Phoenix Contact Reveal 1280kW Charging System

At the highly anticipated Power2Drive Europe event, SINEXCEL, a leader in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, has introduced a groundbreaking 1280kW distributed charging system designed specifically for heavy-duty electric trucks. This innovative solution promises to revolutionize the landscape of electric trucking by setting new standards in efficiency and charging capability.

Features and Innovations

The 1280kW charging system, referred to as the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), is built on four core principles: speed, efficiency, convenience, and cost-effectiveness. It aims to cater to various charging scenarios, ranging from rapid megawatt-level chargers for long-haul trucks to night-time depot charging systems.

Adaptability and Customization

One of the standout features of the MCS is its customizable design, allowing it to adapt seamlessly to different environments such as highways, depots, and dock stations. The system supports multiple configurations for installation, which enhances operational efficiency and practicality.

High Power and Energy Efficiency

The sophisticated setup allows each charging unit to support up to 16 connectors, delivering an impressive 1280kW with flexible power distribution. Utilizing advanced SiC MOSFET technology, the system achieves a remarkable efficiency rating of 96.2%. This high efficiency not only boosts performance but also maximizes the utility of existing electrical infrastructure.

Future-Oriented and User-Friendly Design

Designed with user-friendliness in mind, the 1280kW charging system optimizes both charging performance and economic viability. This forward-thinking approach ensures scalability for future enhancements and compatibility with solar energy storage solutions, potentially alleviating strain on the electrical grid.

Strategic Partnership Enhances Reliability

SINEXCEL collaborated with Phoenix Contact, a renowned name in reliable charging cable manufacturing, to launch the MCS. This partnership emphasizes the seamless integration of the MCS connector with SINEXCEL's advanced electric vehicle charging systems. Capable of delivering up to 1500 amps and 1280kW, the MCS not only meets but exceeds the industry benchmarks for efficiency and reliability.

Joachim Pucker, Senior Director of Electric Vehicle Sales at Phoenix Contact, highlighted the significance of their combined expertise: "With SINEXCEL's deployment of over 140,000 DC charging stations globally and our established reputation for reliable charging cables, we are setting a new industry standard by providing faster and customizable charging solutions, designed specifically for the needs of heavy trucks."

TÜV Rheinland Certification

The introduction of the 1280kW split charging unit is further validated by its CE certification from TÜV Rheinland, underscoring its status as a leader in electric vehicle charging technology. SINEXCEL’s diverse portfolio includes a range of charging solutions from 7 kW to 1.28MW, successfully installed in over 60 countries, and demonstrating its robust international presence in the EV charging infrastructure sector.

As electric trucks become increasingly prevalent in commercial transport, SINEXCEL and Phoenix Contact's innovative solutions pave the way for a greener, more efficient future in heavy-duty vehicle electrification.
