This initiative allows all Pal System users to donate by simply entering a specific number during their product orders.

The Impetus Behind the Fundraising

The campaign is a direct response to the organization's 2023 policy aimed at supporting community members struggling with daily life. By leveraging donations from users, the organization will procure food items and distribute them through local welfare councils and food banks, reinforcing community support.

Since 2021, Pal System Tokyo has collaborated with direct producers to provide food relief to vulnerable households. The surge of surplus rice during the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the organization to initiate a system that funds rice purchases from partner farms, thereby simultaneously supporting agriculture and addressing food insecurity.

During the school summer and winter breaks, when school lunches are not available, the organization donates direct rice to affiliated food banks and children's dining facilities. Initially, Pal System Tokyo covered the costs of purchasing this rice, but starting in 2024, the organization plans to invite user contributions, which have already amassed approximately 1,864,904 yen. With these funds, they successfully delivered 19.8 tons of direct rice to households in need during this fiscal year.

As the demand and supply of rice have become increasingly strained, this year the organization has selected long-shelf-life staple goods, such as long-life bread, for donation. By remaining adaptable to the changing needs of the community, Pal System Tokyo continues to stand by its residents.

All donations will be charged with similar transactions to product prices and can be made through to the fourth week of February.
