Motiva Enterprises Restructures Commercial Team
Motiva Enterprises LLC has revealed a strategic reorganization within its Commercial organization, effective December 1, 2025. This restructuring aims to bolster customer engagement and align commercial strategies with the evolving needs of wholesaler partners. With this reshuffle, Marketing and Sales will become a distinct department, reporting directly to the company’s President and CEO, Jeff Rinker.
New Executive Leadership Team
With the changes, Colleen Murphy-Smith has been appointed as the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Murphy-Smith, who has accumulated over three decades of experience in retail strategy and fuel sales, is set to be a pivotal figure in overseeing both branded and unbranded fuel sales across a network of over 4,000 retail stations in Texas, the Southeast, and the Mid-Atlantic regions. Moreover, she will supervise the growth of Motiva's base oils business under the alliance with Aramco Base Oils.
Murphy-Smith, who joined Motiva in 2009, has previously held various senior-level roles, including Vice President of Product Sales and Vice President of Fuel Sales and Marketing. Jeff Rinker praised her customer-focused approach as critical in advancing Motiva's marketing strategy: "Colleen's leadership has been key to establishing our position as a leading fuel supplier in North America. Her proven track record makes her the ideal leader to guide our Marketing and Sales organization in this new chapter."
In tandem, Ryan Hodgkinson has been appointed as the Executive Vice President of Commercial. Also joining the Executive Leadership team, he will oversee Joint Venture Management, Manufacturing Optimization, and Corporate Development Strategy. Hodgkinson, who has previously served at Aramco Trading Americas, where he handled regional strategy and operations, brings over 22 years of experience within the global energy sector. His background spans leadership in strategy, business development, and finance, setting the stage for him to assist in optimizing commercial functions at Motiva.
"We are excited to have Ryan back at Motiva. His strategic insights and extensive industry experience will be invaluable as we enhance our commercial capabilities and position the company for sustainable growth," stated Rinker.
