Michael Baker International Promotes Aaron Stover, P.E., S.E., to Director of Major Bridges
In a significant move, Michael Baker International, a recognized leader in engineering and technology services, has announced the promotion of Aaron Stover, P.E., S.E., to the position of Director of Major Bridges. This pivotal role will see him at the helm of the firm’s strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing its influence and involvement in landmark bridge projects.
Aaron Stover's primary responsibilities will include driving the pursuit of major bridge projects, enhancing technical leadership, and ensuring quality assurance across complex bridge endeavors. His experience will be fundamental in supporting the company’s pre-marketing and proposal development activities, thereby broadening its engagement across the industry.
The firm also places great emphasis on attracting and nurturing top talent within the realm of complex bridge engineering. In his new capacity, Stover will focus on fostering the next generation of leaders in major bridge design and engineering, thus expanding the ranks of Complex Bridge Technical Directors to better support local offices with national-level expertise.
In collaboration with regional leaders and the firm’s Design-Build practice, Stover aims to drive operational excellence and spearhead significant bridge pursuits, thereby reinforcing Michael Baker's commitment to delivering iconic infrastructure as a unified entity.

Stover's career with Michael Baker dates back to 1999, most recently serving as the Regional Practice Lead for the Great Lakes Region. Over the course of his career, he has played a pivotal role in major bridge projects, including serving as the Project Manager for the US-51 Cairo Bridge, an impressive 900-foot network-tied arch bridge project poised to become the longest single-span bridge of its kind in the United States. He is also leading efforts on the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project, acting as Quality Assurance Manager for the new bridge design connecting Cincinnati, Ohio, and Covington, Kentucky.
Academically, Aaron holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. His contributions to the field were recognized when he received the Chairman's Award from Michael Baker International in 2021.
