SOLV Energy Selected for 209MWdc Solar Project in Texas
November 4, 2025 — SOLV Energy proudly announces its latest achievement of being selected by Sol Systems as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services provider for a substantial 209 MWdc solar photovoltaic (PV) project located in Uvalde, Texas. This project signifies a continuation of collaboration between the two companies, following the successful completion of the 342 MWdc Eldorado solar project in Illinois.
The scope of work for SOLV Energy includes delivering EPC services for the solar PV field alongside the associated high-voltage substation. The project is anticipated to be commercially operational by 2026, marking a significant step towards increasing renewable energy production in the area.
Having constructed nearly 8.5 gigawatts of generating capacity across Texas, SOLV Energy leverages a regionally-focused execution model adept at navigating local terrain and environmental conditions, ensuring the delivery of high-performance builds when it matters most.
George Hershman, CEO of SOLV Energy, expressed pride in the partnership with Sol Systems, saying, "Following the success of Eldorado, this next collaboration reflects our shared commitment to delivering high-quality power infrastructure. This endeavor exemplifies our dedication to advancing clean energy solutions and reinforcing Texas's energy landscape."
Dan Diamond, Chief Development Officer at Sol Systems, added, "SOLV Energy is a trusted partner that shares our commitment to developing renewable energy projects aimed at performance and sustainability. This 209 MWdc project is a key milestone in our partnership, bolstering domestic energy infrastructure, generating employment opportunities in Texas, and providing lasting advantages to the communities we serve."
The anticipated benefits of the Texas solar project are significant; it is expected to supply power to approximately 57,935 homes annually while contributing around 300 construction jobs during peak activity periods. These benefits further underline the importance of renewable energy development in the region, not merely as a source of power but also as a catalyst for local economic growth.
