MyNavi’s Vision for KIDS KANSAI
The motivation behind MyNavi DANCEALIVE is to inspire children who might be hesitant to enter the competitive dance scene. Many dream of standing on the final stage someday, and this event was crafted as a stepping stone for them. MyNavi aims to nurture these young talents and encourage them on their journeys, fostering a supportive community and enhancing their enthusiasm for dancing. This initiative reflects MyNavi's commitment to accompany individuals in their life journeys, promoting diverse career opportunities through dance.
What is MyNavi DANCEALIVE?
MyNavi DANCEALIVE, originally launched in 2005 as "DANCE@LIVE" in Japan, is renowned as the world's largest 1on1 street dance battle. Dancers face off against each other, improvising one move at a time in sync with the music spun by a DJ, whose song choices remain unknown to the contestants. The battle's rules are straightforward: the dancer who receives votes from a greater number of judges wins.
The competition is divided into six categories, encompassing various styles such as HOUSE, BREAKING, HIPHOP, ALL STYLES, and POPPING, collectively referred to as the GENERAL category. Additionally, there is a JOIN KIDS category, which is specifically tailored for those below middle school age, allowing them to compete in ALL STYLES battles. The preliminary rounds take place across eight regions of Japan, culminating in the grand finals held every April. Indoctrinating skills and fostering friendships through dance, this competitive event focuses not just on winning, but on community and individual growth.
As the KIDS KANSAI event concludes, aspirations rise high for the upcoming finals, where dancers like Hono, Unparunpa, COCO, and AOI will seize the chance to showcase their artistic expression. Through this platform, MyNavi DANCEALIVE empowers children, fueling their passion for dance and life-long achievements in whatever paths they choose.
