Discovery Behavioral Health Unveils Two Cutting-Edge Treatment Centers for Mental Health in California and Texas

Discovery Behavioral Health Expands Its Offerings

Discovery Behavioral Health, Inc., a recognized leader in tailored, measurement-based behavioral healthcare, has made an exciting announcement regarding its expansion efforts. The organization is set to launch two extensive hybrid treatment centers in California and Texas, marking a significant milestone in their mission to enhance care for individuals facing eating disorders and mental health challenges.

New Facilities: A Closer Look

The new treatment centers, located in Irving, Texas, and Orange, California, will feature 72 beds between them, catering to patients struggling with primary eating disorders and mental health issues, along with those dealing with co-occurring substance use disorders. These treatment centers will operate under the combined expertise of two of the company's flagship brands: the Center for Discovery and the Discovery Mood and Anxiety Program. This collaboration exemplifies an innovative approach to treatment, allowing for an integrated care model that benefits patients with a range of mental health concerns.

Adding onto this, Discovery Behavioral Health is also expanding its Annapolis, Maryland, treatment center to include 40 beds. This expansion is particularly important as it addresses the increasing demand for behavioral healthcare in these regions.

Enhancing Clinical Capabilities

With these new facilities, Discovery Behavioral Health aims to provide care for more clinically complex patient cases, offering specialized services for both adolescents and young adults. The campus in Orange will focus on adolescent care, while Irving will cater to both adolescent and young adult patients.

Moreover, the newly designed campuses are set to facilitate groundbreaking partnerships with leading healthcare institutions. A prime example of this is the collaboration between Discovery Behavioral Health and Chapman Global Medical Center, located adjacent to the Orange, California facility. The goal of this partnership is to establish educational programs designed to equip clinicians, staff, and the wider community with the knowledge and skills to better address behavioral health issues.

In addition to this, Discovery is engaged in clinical research initiatives in collaboration with Mass General Brigham—a prestigious Harvard Medical School teaching hospital—and is participating in a project partly funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). These efforts reflect Discovery's commitment to advancing the standards of care in the behavioral health sector while maintaining a focus on measurement-based care.

A Statement from Leadership

John Peloquin, the President and CEO of Discovery Behavioral Health, elaborated on the significance of these developments: "These campuses also expand our ability to collaborate with best-in-class partners including our neighbors at Chapman Global. Measurement-based care remains the hallmark of Discovery, and the insights we gain will not only improve patient outcomes but will also advance our industry by reducing relapse rates and creating clearer pathways to lasting recovery."

Echoing this sentiment, Theresa Berton, CEO of Chapman Global Medical Center, expressed excitement about this collaboration. She stated, "We look forward to partnering with Discovery on programs that educate patients, staff, and the community on the medical and behavioral health model of care."
