SINEXCEL Powers Latvia with State-of-the-Art Energy Storage
SINEXCEL, a leader in power inverter manufacturing, has marked a significant milestone in Latvia by supplying advanced Power Conversion Systems (PCS) with a capacity of 1,725 kW for the nation's largest wind farm energy storage project, located at the Tārgale wind farm. This ambitious energy storage system, boasting a total capacity of 20.64 MWh, is not only a crucial step towards enhancing Latvia's renewable energy landscape but also sets a precedent as the first in the Baltic region to be qualified for all frequency regulation services.
The project's completion signals a remarkable advancement in the stability of the electricity grid, allowing for better integration of renewable energy sources in the Baltic states. The 1,725 kW PCS units have been engineered for efficiency and resilience, achieving a remarkable conversion rate of 98.5% and responding to grid demands in mere milliseconds. With functionality that includes frequency regulation, voltage management, and low/high voltage ride-through (L/HVRT), these systems ensure robust support for power grid stabilization.
Particularly designed for harsh operating environments, SINEXCEL's PCS features an IP54 enclosure rating, which guarantees operation in extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C. Each unit is fully certified under CE, VDE 4110/4120, and EN 50549 standards, and compliant with additional certification requirements for utility integration in various markets, including the USA, Australia, Japan, and Thailand.
A standout feature of these PCS units is the intelligent multi-terminal battery connection that prevents current circulation between parallel clusters, protecting battery performance and lifespan. The modular architecture of these systems enables the individual replacement of power modules without taking down the system, effectively minimizing downtime for maintenance and reducing long-term operational costs.
SINEXCEL's PCS systems have found increasing global acceptance, surpassing 1 GW in cumulative shipments since their inception. This achievement underscores market confidence in the system's adaptability and reliability across different regulatory environments and climate conditions.
The completion of the Tārgale project not only cements SINEXCEL's reputation as a trusted partner in energy storage solutions but also highlights the company's commitment to furthering the global transition to clean energy. With certifications across more than 40 countries and a cumulative output capacity of 17 GW/50 GWh across over 5,000 projects, SINEXCEL is well-positioned to support the increased adoption of energy storage technologies worldwide.
Founded in 2007, SINEXCEL has emerged as a pioneer in energy storage systems, EV charging infrastructure, and power quality solutions. Today, with over 200,000 DC fast charging stations installed and active harmonic filters exceeding 20 million amps, SINEXCEL is collaborating with industry leaders to ensure energy freedom for the future.
