Yutong Bus, a leading global manufacturer of electric buses based in China, has launched an international version of its next-generation Internet of Vehicles (IoV) platform named Link+. This innovative platform is a comprehensive upgrade from the previous Vehicle+ system, designed to deliver secure, intelligent, and efficient solutions for fleet operations, enabling operators to optimize their operational efficiency.
The Link+ platform provides extensive monitoring capabilities, allowing real-time tracking of vehicle locations and conditions. By overseeing over 100 components and systems from a distance, it ensures proactive safety measures through smart inspections that take just one minute. These inspections can detect and address potential risks, resulting in a safer driving experience. Additionally, with the help of geo-fencing technology, Link+ offers intelligent speed limit management in designated areas and remote air conditioning adjustments to prepare the vehicle cabin temperature in advance.
One of the standout features of Link+ is its capability to schedule vehicle charging during off-peak hours, significantly reducing energy costs. This intelligent system can identify high energy consumption patterns and proposes data-backed improvement strategies, allowing fleets to operate more economically. Furthermore, Yutong's AI-supported efficiency services can instantly detect malfunctions and provide detailed repair instructions. Operators have access to more than 480,000 original OEM parts with transparent online ordering and real-time tracking, simplifying repair management.
A tangible example of Link+'s impact comes from VOY Santiago SpA, a public transport operator in Chile that utilizes 214 Yutong buses powered by new energy sources. After implementing Link+, VOY reported substantial improvements. The real-time monitoring capabilities of the Link+ platform allowed the company to visualize critical data regarding their fleet, reducing vehicle inspection times from 4-5 days to just 10 minutes. In terms of energy management, Link+ transformed their operations from manual oversight to intelligent control. By standardizing air conditioning settings across the fleet—maintaining a temperature of 22°C and fan speed at 50%—VOY improved driver comfort, while also enhancing passenger comfort, leading to a daily energy consumption reduction of 1,848 kWh. Given Chile's electricity rate of 127 pesos per kWh, this equates to an annual saving of approximately 49.31 million pesos during peak air conditioning usage.
With Link+, Yutong is committed to providing smart lifecycle management solutions that create lasting value for customers worldwide. The company adheres to strict regulations and data security measures in all operating regions, ensuring user privacy and security. Yutong's Information Security Management System (ISMS) has achieved ISO27001 and 27701 certifications, while its Vehicle Cybersecurity Management System (CSMS) has received EU certification. Multiple models have passed R155 VTA certifications in information security, further demonstrating Yutong's commitment to safety and compliance.
