American Uranium Announces Promising Infill Drilling Results for Lo Herma ISR Project in Wyoming
American Uranium Ltd. Reports Infill Drilling Success at Lo Herma
American Uranium Ltd. (ASX: AMU; OTCQB: AMUIF) recently disclosed promising early results from its infill drilling activities at the Lo Herma ISR uranium project, located in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin. This project holds immense potential with a total measured resource of 9.45 million pounds of uranium. The results provided a clear indication of strong continuity in uranium mineralization, essential for converting Inferred resources into Indicated resources in line with the upcoming Mineral Resource Estimate update.
The ongoing drilling program, which comprises a meticulous plan of 55 holes, has already catalyzed enthusiasm within the company. Remarkably, 11 out of the 18 drilled holes intersected mineralization above the cutoff grade. These findings not only bolster confidence in the project’s progress but also pave the way for a significant Scoping Study scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
Bruce Lane, the CEO of American Uranium, expressed optimism regarding the drilling outcomes. He highlighted the high percentage of holes yielding mineralization above the cut-off, reaffirming the effectiveness of their resource upgrade strategy. With several more holes yet to be reported, Lane underscored the potential for substantial growth in resource estimates as they advance towards an ISR uranium resource upgrade.
Alongside the current infill drilling efforts, the company plans to initiate a step-out drilling program, poised to further enhance the understanding of resource distribution and geological confidence. Lane noted that American Uranium is strategically positioned for a robust update on resources, along with the comprehensive Scoping Study aimed for completion in Q3 2026. This ambition coincides with the intensifying focus on domestic nuclear fuel security within U.S. policy.
The Lo Herma Project enjoys a competitive advantage due to its affirmative drilling permit, which allows for a total of 121 drill holes spanning approximately 37,500 meters. To date, 66 holes have successfully been drilled, while the current program targets an additional 55 holes for infill and expansion. This focused approach aims not only at boosting resource estimates but also strengthening geological reliability within the designated study area.
As AMU's flagship asset, the Lo Herma ISR project is situated in Wyoming, a region recognized as the most established jurisdiction for ISR uranium mining in the United States. The project’s development-readiness and contained resource metrics are increasingly drawing comparisons to nearby ISR satellite projects, such as Ur-Energy’s Shirley Basin and Uranium Energy Corp’s Ludeman. These projects have demonstrated effective development under similar hub-and-spoke ISR frameworks.
In addition to Lo Herma, American Uranium holds additional promising ISR properties within Wyoming's Great Divide Basin and conventional uranium/vanadium assets in the Henry Mountains of Utah. The strategic positioning within these mineral-rich regions underscores the company’s commitment to expanding its portfolio in a strengthening market.
With the current developments at Lo Herma, American Uranium is on a firm trajectory to not only secure greater confidence in their uranium resource estimates but also to contribute positively to the revitalizing landscape of U.S. uranium production. As energy demands and policy frameworks evolve, American Uranium stands at the forefront, poised to play a crucial role in meeting future needs through sustainable and responsible uranium extraction practices.
