In a significant milestone for global education, Wellington College International officially announced the opening of its first African school - the Wellington College International Lagos - set to commence in September 2027. This prestigious institution will be located in the emerging urban hub of Alaro City, Lagos, developed by Rendeavour. By introducing a renowned British educational approach, Wellington College aims to provide an exceptional learning environment that integrates local and regional academic strengths.

About the School


The upcoming school is envisioned as a co-educational day and boarding institution catering to 1,500 students aged 3 to 18 years. With a comprehensive curriculum that spans from the English National Curriculum's Key Stage 1 to A-levels, Wellington College International Lagos strives to develop students intellectually, character-wise, and as future leaders.

Utilizing the award-winning design expertise of MICA Architects, the 12.5-acre campus is crafted to include leading-edge facilities for sports, arts, science, and pastoral care. A highlight will be a 50-meter Olympic-sized swimming pool, state-of-the-art performing arts theater, a fully equipped medical center, integrated STEM labs, multi-purpose outdoor sports fields, an indoor sports complex, and a 400-meter running track.
