Landmark Properties has announced the acquisition of a 27-acre site in Oxford, Mississippi, with plans to develop The Station at Oxford, a student housing project aimed at the growing demand for off-campus accommodations near the University of Mississippi (often referred to as Ole Miss). This ambitious project is anticipated to deliver 817 beds in a cottage-style setting, blending contemporary design with community-focused amenities.

The site's strategic location, just south of the Ole Miss campus, positions it to meet the housing needs of students seeking both comfort and convenience. With only a few new developments since 2018, The Station at Oxford is set to redefine student living in the area. Noteworthy for its attractive and functional architecture, the development will include a variety of living options, from two-bedroom to four-bedroom units, all fully furnished and equipped with high-speed internet and cable services.

Going into more detail, the student accommodations will offer a host of modern amenities that cater to today’s student lifestyle. Each unit will boast features like in-unit laundry facilities, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, and spacious closets, alongside en-suite bathrooms and hardwood-style laminate flooring. This attention to detail aims to enhance the overall living experience for residents.

Community Amenities

In addition to the individual unit features, The Station at Oxford will include a community clubhouse designed for both relaxation and social interaction. Residents can enjoy a resort-style swimming pool adorned with cabanas and hammocks, a comprehensive fitness center, and a variety of entertainment facilities. These will encompass a sports simulator, a Jumbotron for watching games, fire pits for evening get-togethers, a grilling area, and even a pickleball court – making it a vibrant hub for student activity.

Separate from leisure spaces, the development also incorporates functional amenities such as a dedicated study lounge, a bike storage rack, and ample parking with space for up to 904 vehicles. Partnership with Liberty Mutual Investments

This project represents the third collaboration between Landmark Properties and Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI), the investment arm of the Liberty Mutual Group. Previous partnerships have resulted in successful developments in other states, such as purpose-built student housing at Pennsylvania State University and The University of Connecticut. Landmark Construction, the in-house contracting unit, will manage the construction phase, utilizing the expertise of Niles Bolton Associates as the architect and JM Engineering as the structural engineer. Construction is scheduled to commence immediately, with an estimated completion aimed for the 2027-2028 academic year.
