FC Imabari High School's Sato-Yama Campus Holds First Joint Learning Event in Tokyo

FC Imabari High School's Sato-Yama Campus: A New Era in Education

Event Overview
On June 7, 2026, the FC Imabari High School Sato-Yama campus will proudly host its first public event, the "FC Imabari High School Sato-Yama Campus Learning Exchange" at Ritsumeikan Tokyo Campus, located in Chiyoda, Tokyo. This unique event aims to gather students from high schools and universities across Japan that are engaged in inquiry-based education and project learning.

The primary focus of this gathering is beyond just showcasing the school; it emphasizes how students are learning, facing challenges, and growing. It aims to demonstrate the value of learning beyond the traditional classroom setting and the kind of education that is demanded in today’s evolving society.

Who Should Attend
We invite not just junior and senior high school students and their parents considering the school, but also anyone interested in the future of education. This event will serve as a platform for meaningful exchanges and discussions on educational practices.

The Importance of Inquiry-Based Learning
In light of rapid advancements in AI and environmental changes, the ability of society to foresee future transformations has become increasingly difficult. Therefore, it is imperative for students today to cultivate the ability to ask questions, collaborate with a diverse range of peers, and tackle real-world issues to create value.

In recent years, the emphasis on inquiry-based learning has significantly increased within educational institutions. With the rise of integrated and recommendation-based admissions in university entrance examinations, alongside the corporate world’s focus on individual agency, problem-solving skills, and collaboration, there is a heightened interest in experiential learning.

At FC Imabari High School's Sato-Yama campus, students engage deeply in inquiry subjects, receiving an extensive allocation of 15 credit units, which is approximately five times the standard number for high schools. Each student is encouraged to pursue their individual themes and engage in inquiry activities linked to society.

Participating Schools
This event will feature four other high schools and universities that share a commitment to inquiry-based education. Each institution will showcase their unique approaches toward fostering a culture of learning that begins with student inquiries, creating an enriching environment for high school and university students, as well as education professionals.
