OCI Energy and Arava Power Join Forces on 670 MWdc Solar Project in Texas

In a momentous event today, OCI Energy and Arava Power executed a Membership Interest Purchase Agreement (MIPA) for the La Salle Solar project, a utility-scale solar initiative with a capacity of 670 MWdc. This project is situated in La Salle County, Texas, and signifies a landmark collaboration between the two energy companies. Under the terms of the MIPA, Arava Power will acquire a 50% equity stake in the project, allowing both entities to jointly finance, construct, own, and operate the solar facility.

The La Salle Solar project not only marks the most substantial single-site solar installation for both companies to date but also reinforces the enduring partnership between OCI Energy and Arava Power. This milestone represents their third collaboration, demonstrating a proven history of advancing large-scale renewable energy initiatives within the Texas market. Upon reaching full capacity, La Salle Solar is projected to produce enough clean electricity to power approximately 100,000 homes, significantly contributing to energy reliability and affordability in this rapidly growing power sector.

"La Salle Solar is a milestone not only because of its size but because it reflects the consistency and expertise of our team," commented Sabah Bayatli, President of OCI Energy. He emphasized that executing a project of this magnitude results from deep market understanding, robust partnerships, and a focused developmental approach. Texas remains a foundation for OCI Energy's operations, and La Salle is a testament to their ability to deliver repeatable, high-quality projects that cater to the changing needs of the energy grid.

Echoing this sentiment, Ilan Zidkony, CEO of Arava Power, remarked, "La Salle Solar reaffirms Arava Power's expanding footprint in the U.S. market. This 670 MWdc project not only strengthens our portfolio but also highlights the perfect synergy between our team and OCI Energy. We are on track to commence groundwork by the end of this year, further propelling our mission of providing large-scale, sustainable energy solutions." The La Salle Solar project is anticipated to commence commercial operations in 2028.
