Unveiling the Premier Culinary Talents in North America: 50 Best Restaurants

In an exciting development for food enthusiasts, the inaugural list of North America's 50 Best Restaurants is set to launch in 2025. This new awards program will spotlight exceptional dining destinations in the United States, Canada, and parts of the Caribbean, establishing itself as a comprehensive ranking of the best restaurants in the region. Sponsored by S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, the initiative aims to celebrate the diverse and thriving culinary landscape of North America.

William Drew, the content director for North America's 50 Best Restaurants, expressed the organization's ambition to honor the region's vibrant dining culture. He noted, “North America boasts a prosperous and diverse culinary scene. We seek to pay tribute to the region's restaurants and inspire food lovers to seek new experiences. Becoming the international market leader in restaurant, bar, and hotel rankings is our goal, and the launch of North America's 50 Best Restaurants will focus on celebrating the talent within the restaurant industry.”

The unveiling of the first-ever list will build up to a live countdown event that will culminate with the announcement of The Best Restaurant in North America 2025. This list will not just be a reflection of public opinion; it will be curated from votes collected from 300 industry experts, including chefs, restaurateurs, journalists, educators, and gastronomes, all of whom will remain anonymous. They will hail from eight designated subregions: the Caribbean (excluding Cuba and the Dominican Republic), the Northeast U.S., Southern U.S., Midwestern U.S., Eastern Canada, Central Canada, and Western Canada. Notably, while Mexico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic will not be part of this ranking, they will continue their participation in Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants.

One of the hallmarks of this award program is that all participating restaurants can enter for free, regardless of their culinary style. Voters will nominate their top eight dining experiences from the past two years, and the anonymity of voters helps avoid undue influence in the selection process. Academy Chairs are responsible for overseeing the voting within their respective subregions, but their votes will not carry more weight than the other votes, ensuring a fair assessment.

The first North America's 50 Best Restaurants list will be revealed during an awards ceremony later this year, with details regarding the date and location to be announced in due course. This initiative marks a significant milestone in recognizing and promoting the culinary arts throughout North America, offering a trusted guide for diners eager to discover the best culinary experiences the region has to offer.

As food lovers eagerly anticipate this new ranking, it is evident that North America's culinary talents are ready to take center stage on the international scene, shining a spotlight on the incredible restaurants and chefs who are shaping the future of dining in this region. As we count down to the unveiling, the excitement builds, and the gastronomic community prepares for a celebration of exceptional cuisine and creativity.
