AerCap Expands Its Global Reach with New Airbus A321neo Lease to My Freighter

In a significant step for the aviation sector in Uzbekistan, AerCap Holdings N.V., a leading player in the global aviation leasing industry, has announced a partnership with My Freighter, a cargo airline based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The agreement involves leasing two new Airbus A321neo aircraft, marking a milestone as AerCap's first client in Uzbekistan. These aircraft are expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2027. According to Peter Anderson, AerCap's Chief Commercial Officer, this agreement is not only beneficial for My Freighter but also signals the growth potential of Tashkent as a strategic aviation hub connecting the East and West.

My Freighter, which also operates the passenger airline Centrum Air, aims to expand its operational capabilities with these new aircraft. The A321neo is known for its fuel efficiency and extended range, which will bolster the airline's capacity to serve new markets and improve passenger comfort. Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, Chairman and CEO of Centrum Holding, shared his enthusiasm for this partnership, underscoring that the addition of the Airbus A321neos will enhance their operational capabilities and allow them to launch new routes to Europe.

Established in 2020, My Freighter has quickly made a name for itself in Central Asia by operating scheduled and chartered cargo flights across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The airline specializes in transporting a wide range of cargo, including perishables and hazardous materials. Its certification under CCAR-129 positions it as a key player in global trade routes, supported by strategically located hubs. The airline's mission is to provide reliable and customer-focused air freight solutions while continuously expanding its operations and partnerships.

Alongside My Freighter, Centrum Air represents a growing pillar of Uzbekistan's aviation landscape. Established in early 2023, Centrum Air has swiftly emerged as the country’s largest private airline, equipped with a modern fleet that includes both narrow and wide-body aircraft. With ambitious plans to expand their network across Central Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and China, Centrum Air is set to play a pivotal role in enhancing regional connectivity. The partnership with AerCap, therefore, is timely for both entities, providing a launchpad to explore new opportunities and serve a broader customer base more effectively.

AerCap, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, boasts one of the industry's most appealing order books and serves around 300 customers worldwide with a variety of fleet solutions. With offices scattered globally from Dublin to Singapore and beyond, AerCap's operations are structured to adapt to the ever-evolving demands of the aviation market while ensuring its clients receive state-of-the-art aircraft to meet their operational needs. This latest collaboration with My Freighter illustrates AerCap's commitment to supporting the growth of regional airlines and enhancing the aviation landscape in emerging markets.

As My Freighter embarks on this growth journey, the addition of the Airbus A321neo promises to enhance service offerings, improve operational efficiency, and open doors to new international destinations. Given the challenges and opportunities arising from geopolitical shifts and market demands, this partnership sets the stage for future advancements in the aviation sector, particularly in Uzbekistan, which is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for air travel and cargo transport. With continued focus on innovation and efficiency, both AerCap and My Freighter are poised for significant developments in the years to come.
