Samson Sky Teams Up with AIR Tashkent to Launch Switchblade Flying Car in Uzbekistan

In a thrilling development for the aviation and transportation sectors, Samson Sky, a pioneering American company, has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AIR Tashkent, based in Uzbekistan. This partnership is set to bring the groundbreaking Switchblade flying car to Uzbekistan, marking a significant leap forward in the realm of private aviation. The MOU was finalized at the grand inauguration of AIR Tashkent's 'Easy to Fly Academy,' an institution dedicated to cultivating the next generation of aviation professionals.

The Switchblade represents a unique fusion of automotive and aviation technology, designed to function as both a high-performance vehicle on roads and a sleek aircraft in the air. This hybrid electric vehicle offers incredible versatility, allowing users to transition seamlessly from driving to flying; one can simply park it in a garage, drive to a nearby airport, and within moments change it into flying mode at the touch of a button.

Under the terms of the MOU, AIR Tashkent plans to facilitate the sale of at least 300 Switchblade vehicles in the Uzbek market, which could generate revenues exceeding $60 million. Anna V. Grebenshchikova, a former aerobatic pilot and the ambassador for Samson Sky, played a crucial role in fostering this collaboration, stating, “It all started with an idea in 2024 to innovate private aviation in Uzbekistan, and we are now excited to introduce the Switchblade, a symbol of evolution in transportation along the ancient Silk Road.”

AIR Tashkent is set to acquire several Switchblade units for pilot training purposes, catering to both personal and commercial aviation segments. Moreover, Samson Sky will extend its expertise by providing pilot training as well as courses for mechanics, ensuring a robust support system for the proper utilization and maintenance of the flying car.

The Switchblade, which has completed successful test flights in the United States, is a marvel of engineering that accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just five seconds. It boasts a top speed of 125 mph on the ground and can cruise at an impressive 160 mph in the air, covering distances up to 500 miles on a single tank of gas at an altitude of 13,000 feet. Safety features include enclosed flying surfaces while in driving mode, providing peace of mind to users.

Sam Bousfield, CEO and Founder of Samson Sky, expressed enthusiasm about the potential impact of the Switchblade on regional travel in Uzbekistan, affirming, “The Switchblade will significantly advance the way people travel, supporting both businesses and governmental operations to function more efficiently.”

According to Anvar Sulaymonov, Deputy Director of AIR Tashkent, this collaboration will not only enhance general aviation in Uzbekistan but will also connect U.S. innovation with Uzbek market needs, paving the way for future partnerships and expanding opportunities for both entities.

AIR Tashkent is trailblazing in the aviation industry as the first private company in Uzbekistan supplying individual high-quality air travel services. Their commitment lies in delivering safe, reliable, and comfortable flight experiences with an extensive range of services, diverse routes, and a modern fleet. As global air travel continues to evolve, AIR Tashkent aims to empower travelers by prioritizing their preferences for routes, timings, and overall travel experience.
