Saphlux and Vuzix Unite to Innovate AR Display Technologies

In a groundbreaking move, Saphlux, Inc., renowned for its cutting-edge quantum dot MicroLED displays, has joined forces with Vuzix Corporation, a leader in AI-powered smart glasses and augmented reality (AR) innovations. Announced on September 19, 2025, this strategic collaboration aims to develop high-performance optical solutions that will accelerate the adoption of advanced AI/AR glasses in the marketplace.

A Visionary Collaboration

The partnership between Saphlux and Vuzix is set to redefine what consumers expect from augmented reality. The two companies intend to create a compact optical component that will form the backbone of next-generation smart AR glasses. Saphlux plans to provide its T1-0.13" mono-green MicroLED microdisplay, which boasts exceptional brightness, uniformity, and an established mass-production capability. Vuzix will leverage this advanced display technology alongside its proprietary waveguides to produce a sophisticated system design.

Both companies are eager to expand their collaboration further, with plans for developing a full-color AR optical solution that would pave the way for the commercialization of next-gen AI/AR smart glasses tailored for original design manufacturers (ODMs) and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). By the end of this year, they aim to co-develop a reference design display engine that will feature a dual-eye mono-green retrofit as well as a single-eye mono-green model.

Pioneering the Future of AR

Dr. Chen Chen, CEO of Saphlux, expressed excitement around the collaboration, stating, “By working with Vuzix, we can demonstrate the full performance potential and commercial viability of our microdisplay solutions in ready-to-market AI/AR glasses. This partnership highlights our aim to drive mass-market AR glasses by aligning with industry-leading partners.”

Similarly, Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix, emphasized the synergy between display technology and optical design. “Our collaboration with Saphlux illustrates the increasing need for practical AR solutions that are scalable, and together, we’ll expand the practical applications of AR technology,” he stated.

Saphlux: A Leader in Display Solutions

Founded with a vision for the future, Saphlux has emerged as a leader in the development of quantum dot Micro-LED (QD-MLED) display solutions. The company is unique in its ability to mass-produce QD MLED displays, and its product lineup includes the QD-COB and QD-COB Pro Series for commercial applications, as well as T-Series micro-displays designed specifically for immersive AR experiences. Saphlux is tackling critical challenges in display technology, such as full-color integration and delivering high-performance red emissions, in collaboration with various partners, to revolutionize human-machine interactions.
