Chery's Guardian Battery Survives Over 53 Hours in Ocean Testing
Chery's Guardian Battery: A Testament to Durability
On June 17th, Chery commenced the second phase of its global safety challenge in Jakarta, Indonesia, focusing on extreme humidity conditions. This rigorous test serves to evaluate the Guardian Battery's resilience within its six-dimensional safety rating system. This system encompasses a range of conditions, including heat, cold, dryness, humidity, high speed, and uneven terrain.
Chery’s own 'Guardian Battery,' employed in the Super Hybrid model (CSH), was subjected to a relentless soaking of salt water for an astonishing 53 hours and 51 minutes. This endurance test witnessed the presence of Mr. Heri Prabowo, Head of Motor Vehicle Type Testing at the Ministry of Transportation, and Mr. Christian Andersen, a notary, along with representatives from over 80 notable media and industry groups. This event was to validate the battery's performance under such tough conditions.
The results were nothing short of impressive; the battery showcased no signs of leakage, short-circuiting, or thermal losses. It maintained structural integrity throughout the test and successfully passed all technical validations for electrical insulation. Post-testing, the battery initiated with remarkable efficiency on the first attempt and delivered stable performance without any anomalies during the entire duration.
The Guardian Battery is not just built for endurance; it comes with an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, an ultra-fast response time of 2 milliseconds after power-off, and operates effectively in a wide temperature range of -35°C to 60°C. Furthermore, its real-time state monitoring system runs 24/7, ensuring comprehensive safety backed by advanced smart technologies.
To bolster passive safety, the TIGGO8 CSH model features a high-strength steel underbody shield, characterized by a tensile strength of 780 MPa. This construction significantly enhances the overall vehicle safety. Furthermore, attendees of the event were particularly impressed by the spacious '5+2' seating arrangement within the TIGGO8 CSH. Its third-row seats can be folded down at the push of a button, revealing a colossal cargo space of 1,930 liters—the largest in its class—complemented by 36 storage compartments, and a robust V2L system delivering 3.3kW of power, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience for families.
Chery's commitment to high safety standards and relentless technological innovation is evident as it continuously enhances its offerings for user safety. By participating in strict global safety challenges, Chery positions itself alongside industry leaders like Volvo, showcasing its dedication to safety and reliability.
Moving forward, Chery plans to conduct rigorous scratch tests on the underbody of vehicles planned for the Mexican market, further evaluating the safety parameters of its CSH model. This step emphasizes Chery's promise to deliver safe and reliable mobility solutions to customers around the globe, enhancing their driving experience.
The event not only highlighted the remarkable durability of the Guardian Battery but also showcased Chery's focus on user experience with vehicles designed for safety, convenience, and cutting-edge technology.
Chery's continuous efforts in technology and safety reaffirm its position in the automotive industry, aiming to redefine standards in vehicle safety and performance.
