Green Energy & Company Group Wins Bid for Constructing Power Storage Facility in Hamamatsu

Green Energy & Company Group Secures Construction Project in Hamamatsu

The Green Energy & Company Group, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, has announced a significant advancement in its renewable energy initiatives. A wholly-owned subsidiary, Green Energy Plus, has been awarded a contract by Shizuoka Gas & Power, a subsidiary of Shizuoka Gas, to construct a power storage facility in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

Background and Overview of the Project

As the adoption of renewable energy expands nationwide, it becomes essential to balance supply and demand due to the fluctuating nature of power generated from solar and wind sources. The power storage facility aims to maintain this balance by allowing for the storage and release of electricity—an increasingly critical function as more renewable sources come online. In this project, Green Energy Plus will manage everything from land development to various right acquisitions and the actual construction of the storage facility, which is set to be delivered to Shizuoka Gas & Power. Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2027, with the facility expected to commence operations in April 2028.

Storage Facility Specifications

The new facility will have a rated output of 1,999 kW and a total capacity of 8,584 kWh, enough to power approximately 4,700 households simultaneously for around 4.3 hours, which translates to about 860 households per day, assuming an average consumption of 10 kWh per household per day.

  • - Project Name: Power Storage Facility Construction
  • - Location: Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture
  • - Rated Output: 1,999 kW

Commitment to Expanding Renewable Energy

As part of its ongoing mission to enhance renewable energy integration and ensure stability across power grids, the Green Energy & Company Group is committed to developing power storage facilities in various locations. This project in Hamamatsu is aligned with their goal to foster a more sustainable energy landscape beyond regional boundaries.
