Japan's First Women Empowerment and Well-being Award 2025
In an exciting initiative to support women's roles in society, the Japan Women's Foundation, in collaboration with the Japan Academy of Women's Well-being, is launching the first-ever Women Empowerment and Well-being Award 2025. This event aims to recognize and encourage individuals and organizations committed to promoting gender equality and well-being for women across Japan.
Purpose of the Award
The Women Empowerment and Well-being Award seeks to increase awareness of women’s empowerment activities and acknowledges the exceptional contributions made by various stakeholders towards enhancing women’s well-being. This award is a comprehensive recognition that focuses not only on individuals but also on organizations dedicated to fostering a healthier, happier, and more equitable society for women.
Award Ceremony Details
The inaugural award ceremony and press conference will take place on August 20, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by commemorative lectures, activity reports from the foundation, and networking opportunities until 5:00 PM.

Award Categories and Prizes
The awards will be divided into two categories:
1. Blue Emerald Category (Women Empowerment):
- - Grand Prize (Blue Emerald Grand-prix): 1 winner (Prize: ¥300,000)
- - Activity Awards: 4 organizations (Prize: ¥100,000 each)
2. Well-being Category:
- - Well-being Person of the Year: 1 winner (Prize: ¥200,000)
- - Encouragement Award: 1 organization (Certificate and bonus prize)
Each award will receive a certificate and additional prizes to celebrate their remarkable efforts.
Special Judges
The award will be judged by a panel of esteemed individuals:
- - Yasuhide Nakamura: Chairman of the Japan WHO Association, Professor Emeritus at Osaka University
- - Yoichiro Hirano: CEO of Asteria Inc. (TSE Prime), Special Professor at Kyoto University Graduate School of Management
- - Madoka Maeno: CEO of EVOL, Visiting Professor at Musashino University’s Well-being Faculty
