CLOU Electronics Launches Award-Winning Energy Storage Systems at Solar Energy Expo

CLOU Electronics, a leader in energy storage solutions recognized by Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) as a Tier 1 provider, made a significant entry during the Solar Energy Expo held in Warsaw, Poland. The company launched its pioneering liquid-cooled energy storage systems: the Aqua-E261 and Aqua-X261, which are specifically designed for commercial and industrial (C&I) applications. These innovative systems promise not only efficiency but also heighten safety while reducing overall operational costs associated with electricity.

Acknowledgment and Recognition

CLOU's efforts were recognized at the expo where it received the Excellence Award in the Energy Storage Category, awarded by the exhibition organizer, PTAK Warsaw Expo. This accolade reflects CLOU's commitment to advancing energy storage technology in a landscape that increasingly prioritizes sustainability. The innovations presented are integral to accelerating Europe’s energy transition.

Addressing Key Challenges in Energy Storage

Energy storage systems like those offered by CLOU play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of energy consumption across businesses in Europe. With functionalities such as peak shaving, valley filling, photovoltaic (PV) consumption, and electricity arbitrage, these systems allow businesses to significantly lower their electricity expenses. Moreover, features like millisecond-level emergency responses ensure that critical operations are unaffected during power fluctuations. However, the energy storage industry faces persistent challenges, including breaking revenue bottlenecks, enhancing operational efficiency, and strengthening safety protocols.

Cutting-Edge Features of Aqua-E261 and Aqua-X261

The Aqua-E261 and Aqua-X261 stand out as flagship products within CLOU’s C&I liquid-cooled energy storage series. Equipped with 314Ah battery cells and an impressive energy storage capacity of up to 261kWh, these systems comply with rigorous IEC, UN, and CE standards, ensuring their safety and reliability.

The Aqua-X261 is particularly noteworthy as it serves as CLOU's first integrated solution combining PV with energy storage, optionally offering a 120kW PV and STS module. Enhancements in safety include a four-level overcurrent protection system encompassing at the pack, cluster, PCS, and cabinet levels, assuring precise and immediate system shutdowns when necessary.

Additionally, an innovative thermal safety design featuring a three-layer system focuses on early warning, exhaust ventilation, and fire protection, to prevent issues like thermal runaway. An active venting system coupled with cabinet-level fire suppression adds an extra layer of security.

CLOU’s AI Smart Monitoring plays a crucial role in continuously analyzing real-time data, identifying any cell anomalies, and mitigating risks of thermal runaway while meeting stringent regional reliability requirements.

Maximizing Return on Investment

In terms of economic value, these systems manage a cell temperature difference of ≤2.5°C due to effective heat dissipation strategies at both pack and cell levels. This careful management extends the system's operational life by an additional two years under a typical usage scenario of two charges and discharges daily. The deployment of Midea's proprietary AI temperature control technology has demonstrated reductions in auxiliary power consumption by 30%, significantly enhancing efficiency. Coupling it with an advanced energy management system ensures a maximized system efficiency of ≥90%.

CLOU's commitment to modular design also allows for flexible capacity expansion and significantly reduces the time required for on-site commissioning.

Expanding Global Reach

Apart from its new C&I storage systems, CLOU has also showcased multiple utility-scale liquid-cooled energy storage solutions, including the Aqua-C2.5, which has already garnered substantial orders across Europe. As CLOU continues to innovate, they are poised to achieve significant global expansion supported by an extensive portfolio of project orders, which number over 1.5GWh in Europe alone.

The Aqua-C3.0 and Aqua-C3.0 Pro, released in 2025, respond to contemporary demands for large cell applications, boasting capabilities of up to 7.354MWh in a single cabinet. These systems incorporate groundbreaking technologies such as direct cooling, active balancing, and integrated architectures, marking a new era in energy storage solutions.

In alignment with Midea Group’s strategy, CLOU continues to expand its energy storage portfolio, solidifying its leadership position in the global market and driving forward the dynamics of energy transition.
