OIMACHI LIGHT TRAIL: A New Era Begins in Oimachi
As part of the wider urban development within the greater Shinagawa area, NAKED, INC. is set to lead the spectacular projection mapping and lighting event,
OIMACHI LIGHT TRAIL, coinciding with the grand opening of the
OIMACHI TRACKS on March 28, 2026. This large-scale complex, directly connected to Oimachi Station, will serve as a hub for the community, blending history and innovation in its design and events.
A Historical Connection through Light
Oimachi has a rich history intertwined with Japan's railway development. The
OIMACHI LIGHT TRAIL aims to illuminate the scenic paths that define the area, connecting the station, squares, and parks with “light tracks.” This initiative not only enhances the aesthetic of the city at night but also fosters a sense of community engagement and connectivity.
Key Features of the Event
OIMACHI LIGHT TRAIL will unfold across four significant areas, each offering unique light displays themed around the concept of railway tracks. Here’s what to expect:
1. STATION PLAZA: Seasonal Projection Mapping on the Grand Steps
At the main entrance of Oimachi, the grand stairs will showcase an array of seasonal digital art. For the opening event, attendees can look forward to an enchanting display titled
SAKURA SYMPHONY, where cherry blossoms will spring to life through projection. Additionally, a
FIREWORKS FEST display themed around local fireworks will surprise visitors with new artistic experiences at every turn.
2. CROSS PLAZA: The OIMACHI TRACKS SYMBOL
A centerpiece in the plaza will feature a symbolic structure inspired by the railway tracks, enhanced by lighting that connects the stories of Oimachi's past with its future. As night falls, this landmark will stand out as a beacon of the city's heritage and aspirations.
3. TRACKS PARK: Guided Nighttime Strolls
The expansive rooftop park will transform into a magical space with illuminated trees and projected images on the ground. This enchanting trail of light will create a captivating atmosphere for evening strolls, allowing visitors to experience the outdoors like never before.
4. Yamanote Line Train Yard: Illuminating Railway Memories
The train station and nearby train yard will be showcased through dynamic lighting, reflecting the essence of Oimachi as a railway town. This installation will create a vibrant, dynamic nighttime landscape that celebrates the area's railway heritage.
