Chery TIGGO7 CSH Successfully Completes Battery Impact Test in Mexico

Chery TIGGO7 CSH's Resilient Performance in Battery Impact Testing

On July 29, Chery's flagship model, the TIGGO7 CSH, underwent a critical battery impact test in Mexico, successfully demonstrating its structural integrity and safety features. The test, presided over by notarized representatives and industry experts, saw the vehicle collide with a 242 mm obstacle at a speed of 30 km/h. This scenario was designed to replicate dangerous road conditions where vehicles might encounter high obstacles, reflecting the brand’s commitment to safety and durability.

Performance Under Pressure

The TIGGO7 CSH exhibited remarkable resilience during this extreme test. After the collision, the battery casing only displayed minor visible scratches, without any evidence of electrolyte leakage, fires, explosions, or smoke. Such outcomes reaffirm the robust nature of the vehicle’s battery protection system, which is designed to maintain high structural integrity under stress. Notably, there was only minimal deformation observed at the base of the battery, while all high-voltage connectors remained fully operational.

The test served to validate Chery's 'Guardian Battery' system, which utilizes lithium iron phosphate cells that provide a stable electrochemical base. Additionally, the high-strength steel reinforcement at the battery's base can withstand pressures of up to 780 MPa. This structural innovation, inspired by chainmail design, effectively dissipates impact forces that could otherwise compromise battery integrity.

Another key feature is the high-voltage circuit disconnection technology, which responds within milliseconds, cutting off power in as little as 10 milliseconds, thus minimizing risks of short circuits. Furthermore, the battery has achieved IP68 dustproof certification, ensuring reliable performance in challenging road conditions.

Global Test Journey

This impact assessment is part of a larger global safety testing tour for the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) series, which has previously undergone rigorous assessments in China, including severe rolling resistance tests and vehicle-to-vehicle crash simulations. The CSH’s exhaustively tested parameters also included extensive submersion trials in seawater in Indonesia, verifying its durability in various environmental extremes.

Chery further asserts itself as a leader in automotive safety testing. Their commitment involves not only proving their vehicles' robustness worldwide but also promoting safety awareness through high-visibility displays at major transport hubs like Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest international airport. Chery emphasizes its security philosophy: “Safety for the Family,” promoting the importance of protective car technologies for families everywhere.

Leading the Future of Automotive Safety

With its cutting-edge battery safety technologies and ongoing global testing initiatives, Chery is strategically positioned to enhance its global market presence in the hybrid vehicle segment. The company's mission, encapsulated in the slogan “Let Everyone Enjoy Five-Star Protection,” is becoming a tangible reality, as it continues to innovate and prioritize consumer safety in its vehicle designs.

In conclusion, the successful completion of the battery impact test exemplifies Chery's commitment to producing safe, reliable vehicles that are prepared to meet the challenges of modern driving conditions. Stay tuned for more updates on Chery’s innovations and their global safety testing initiatives, as they strive to lead the automotive industry into a safer future.
