The 13th Annual Great Americans Shoot: A Record-Breaking Fundraiser for Special Forces
The great spirit of camaraderie and appreciation for service came to life at the 13th Annual Great Americans Shoot (TGAS) held in the Dallas area from October 2–4, 2026. This extraordinary event brought together 25 teams, comprising civilians and military personnel, to raise an impressive $2.4 million aimed at supporting the Special Forces Trust and their critical initiatives for Green Berets and their families.
A Purpose-Driven Weekend
This year's TGAS not only showcased a thrilling clay-target competition at the Dallas Gun Club in Lewisville, but also a challenging multi-gun competition at the Extreme Tactical Gun Club in Waxahachie. With representatives from the Army Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Marine Raiders, and Air Force Combat Controllers present, it highlighted an atmosphere of unity both in competition and purpose. As teams competed, the common thread binding them was the desire to ensure that the brave men and women who serve their nation receive the vital support they need.
As Jodi Burns, CEO of the Special Forces Trust, emphasized, “Our Green Berets have carried the weight of service for decades, and their families have carried it alongside them. The $2.4 million raised will help us respond when they need us, providing access to mental health care, support in times of crisis, and opportunities for families to reconnect.” The funds raised will be instrumental in continuing critical programs that help this unique community navigate the complexities and challenges that can arise due to their service.
