The 137th Canton Fair is poised to commence on April 15 in Guangzhou, and several promotional conferences have already set the stage for its impact. During the Hong Kong Spring Reception and the Canton Fair Promotion Conference, over 260 guests were present, including key figures from the Hong Kong Trade and Industry Department, six local chambers of commerce, 21 foreign chambers, and representatives from 17 leading multinational companies. Moreover, members of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, along with partners from the exhibition industry and media, added further weight to the gathering.

Dr. Jonathan Choi, chairman of the General Chamber of Commerce of Hong Kong, noted the active participation and benefits Hong Kong’s economy gains from the Canton Fair. He highlighted the importance of utilizing the fair as a platform for local businesses to penetrate the Belt and Road Initiative markets and emerging economies.

In Macao, the reception on March 19 attracted around 90 guests, including officials from the Economic Affairs Bureau and the Office of Economic and Technological Development. Xu Lemin, the deputy secretary of the Macao Chamber of Commerce, expressed hopes that more Macao-based enterprises can showcase their successes under the labels of "manufactured in Macao" and "designed in Macao" at the Canton Fair. This is especially vital for spotlighting the cooperative development between Macao and Hengqin, which ultimately aims to elevate the regional economy to new heights.
