Why the Need for Learning Spaces in Toshima Ward?

In today's society, issues such as decreased intergenerational interaction and social isolation have surfaced. The "Community Cultural Center" in Toshima Ward seeks to create a hub where each resident can become the protagonist of their own story. This event was conceptualized to shift the perception of the community cultural center from merely a place to rent towards a space for encountering a new version of oneself.

By fostering a intersection of learning among local organizations, the ward, and residents, the festival aimed to add color to daily lives. The concept centered around breaking down barriers of teaching and learning within the community.

Dynamic Stage Presentations: Showcasing Local Talents

One of the standout features of the festival was the lively performances by local lifelong learning groups who call the Community Cultural Center home. Audiences were captivated by the brilliance of participants across generations.

  • - Next Generation Energy: The festival kicked off with an energetic dance performance by the Doki Doki WaR Dance Kids.
  • - Harmony of Tradition: The moving sounds of the Shakuhachi Circle Maimu and a warm ensemble by the Fun Music Club.
  • - Cultural Heritage: A traditional dance performance, recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, was presented by SAKURA.
