Unitree Robotics Dazzles with Cyber Kung Fu Performance at the 2026 Spring Festival Gala

As the Year of the Horse unfolds, the Grand Stage of the 2026 Spring Festival Gala featured an extraordinary showcase by Unitree Robotics. This was their third year as the official robotic partner, and this time, they unveiled a groundbreaking performance blending traditional martial arts with cutting-edge technology under the title 'Cyber Kung Fu Real'.

Unprecedented Achievements in Movement

During this performance, Unitree's humanoid robots, the G1 and H2 models, displayed a level of movement performance that has never been seen before. They executed multiple world-first stunts, including:
  • - Continuous freestyle parkour over tables
  • - Aerial backflip jumps with a height exceeding 3 meters
  • - World’s first one-legged continuous backflips, and a two-step wall-assisted backflip
  • - An Airflare with seven and a half rotations

These remarkable maneuvers showcased not only their physical prowess but also demonstrated the incredible advancements in technology that make such feats possible. The robots also showcased synchronization that enabled a cluster of robots, a feat that reached a maximum movement speed of 4 m/s, along with dexterous hands that firmly grasp martial arts equipment.

High-Concurrency Control Systems

The performance relied on a state-of-the-art high-concurrency control system, which allowed dozens of robots to move in perfect synchrony. The movements were executed with ultra-low latency, which is crucial for a performance filled with rapid transitions and complex formations. This technical advancement ensured that even with such dynamic movements, the robots remained precisely localized, thanks to an AI fusion localization algorithm that integrated proprioceptive data and 3D LiDAR information at astonishing speeds.

This innovative system made it possible for the robots to maintain their positioning accurately, circumventing common issues like loss of tracking during strenuous movements.

Show-Stopping Appearances

The grand finale featured H2, embodying the character of 'Sword Master.' The robot performed a sword routine characterized by controlled strength and fluidity. In a symbolic gesture representing the unity between tradition and technology, H2 shared the stage with a young martial artist, bowing together—an image that resonated with the spirit of martial arts and the potential future of human-robot collaboration.

Malfunctioning at a secondary stage located in Yiwu, thousands of kilometers away, H2 donned the heavy armor of the Monkey King, wielded a majestic golden staff, and gallantly maneuvered along streets before descending to the Egg Theater, heavily blending high-tech performance with traditional culture.

The Ongoing Revolution

Unitree's participation in the Spring Festival Gala not only serves as a tribute to Chinese culture but also illustrates the significant strides made in humanoid robotics. Since their debut, their innovative capabilities have secured a leading position in the global market, achieving the highest shipment volume in 2025. As they continue to evolve and push the boundaries of what's possible, Unitree Robotics is set to reshape the future of integrated intelligence in robotics.

The Spring Festival Gala serves as a stunning platform, merging tradition with technology, and proving that the future holds immense possibilities for innovative collaborations, driven by the spirit of martial arts and advanced robotic capabilities.
