Savor Local Delights at the Yabuki Shokudo Event

On December 8th and 9th, 2025, Tokyo will host a special event at the KITTE underground Tokyo City Eye Performance Zone, showcasing the exquisite local produce from Yabuki Town in Fukushima Prefecture.

This two-day event features a unique opportunity to purchase lunch boxes and snack boxes crafted from the region’s finest ingredients. Visitors can enjoy these culinary creations while also sampling popular return gifts from the hometown tax system, including Yabuki Town's original sake, "Kaitakuno Uta."

Exclusive Culinary Offerings

The lunch box, priced at an affordable 550 yen (tax included), includes a delightful array of eight items. Among these, the standout dish is the "Sake Lees Miso Pork Marinade," which uses sake lees from the renowned Oki Daikichi Brewery and miso from the Yamasa Miso Koji Company. Additionally, there is the "Steamed Vegetables with Carrot Dressing," featuring fresh local veggies dressed in a house-made dressing, creating an invigorating dish perfect for lunch.

The snack box is equally enticing, consisting of eight items that pair excellently with Yabuki Town's sake, such as "Ika-Ninjin" (a local delicacy of squid and carrot) and "Sake Lees Raisins," which harmoniously blend the aroma of sake lees with the sweetness of raisins. Both boxes are limited to just 50 units per day, ensuring that guests can enjoy these special offerings while they last.

Situated in the southern part of Fukushima, Yabuki Town boasts fertile agricultural lands and a climate that allows for diverse crop production. Its farmers cultivate various delicious vegetables and fermented products, making the town a culinary treasure.

Tasting and Sampling Experience

In addition to the food boxes, attendees will have the chance to taste and purchase Yabuki Town's original sake "Kaitakuno Uta" and the fresh sweet sake from Yamasa Miso Koji Company, known for its exquisite "Nama Amazake". There will also be tastings of local specialties such as the famous Shibata Senbei, along with fresh mini tomatoes, miso, and moromi. Notably, the iconic Kabuki-age snacks from Amanoya are also produced in Yabuki Town.

For those interested in cooking at home, the special Yabuki rice, known as "Kabuto Ebi to Ikamu Yabuki no Kome", will be available for purchase at the event, priced at 1,100 yen for 1kg.

The event operates from 11 AM to 7 PM on both days:

Lunch boxes are available from 11 AM to 2 PM, and snack boxes from 3 PM to 7 PM.
Each type is strictly limited to 50 units per day.
