Photomatic Shibuya, a flagship store of the South Korean self-photo brand, is celebrating its first anniversary with an exciting campaign and a host of engaging activities. Managed by PickHive Inc., based in Shinjuku, Tokyo, this innovative self-photo brand started in Korea and brought a unique self-photography experience to Japan.

Since its opening on June 27, 2024, Photomatic Shibuya has been dubbed a trendsetter in the self-photography space, gaining media attention from various TV shows and magazines. The rise of this phenomenon among Gen Z has been reflected across social media platforms, contributing to a steady increase in customer visits. What started with a single store has now expanded to nine locations across Japan, fueled by collaborations with various IPs, events, and brands.

Anniversary Campaign Overview



To commemorate this milestone, the "Photomatic Shibuya 1st Anniversary Campaign" will run from June 20, 2025, to July 4, 2025. The store will offer unique services designed to make capturing everyday moments more enjoyable for both loyal customers and newcomers alike.

1. Multi-booth Printing Enhancement: During the campaign, customers can enjoy double the prints in the multi-booth on the second floor. Instead of the usual two prints, customers will receive four prints of their chosen shots. The multi-booth is spacious enough for groups, making it an excellent post-meal activity.

2. Digital Camera Takeover: From 10 AM to 6 PM, customers utilizing the photo booth will have the opportunity to use a compact digital camera, capturing moments inside the vintage-inspired shop. After the shoot, patrons can select four favorite images to receive both prints framed in Photomatic's original design and digital data.

3. Korean Favorite – Six-Cut Frame: A popular six-cut frame, which debuted in Korea, will make its Japan debut during this campaign. This allows customers to capture more expressions, encouraging creativity and self-exploration.

Photomatic was founded in 2018 by photographer Hong Seung-hyun, who proposed the innovative idea of allowing individuals to shoot self-portraits instead of relying on professional photographers. With expertly designed lighting and space, anyone can capture authentic moments at the touch of a remote control. The unique concept and high-quality experience have quickly garnered popularity among many South Korean celebrities and artists, including BTS.

Expansion to Japan



In 2024, Photomatic partnered with Kitamura Holdings Group, marking its extensive entry into the Japanese market. The brand aims to provide Japanese customers with a fresh photography experience.
