SOMPO Himawari Life Launches V Point Exchange Service

Starting December 9, 2025, SOMPO Himawari Life will introduce an exciting new feature in their MY Himawari app, which will allow users to exchange their accumulated points for V Points. This initiative, brought together by CCCMK Holdings and Sumitomo Mitsui Card Company, aims to enhance the experience of policyholders by rewarding healthy behaviors and administrative engagement in an innovative way.

The MY Himawari app offers a comprehensive platform for users to manage their life insurance policies conveniently from their smartphones. From checking policy details to completing necessary procedures, the app provides a user-friendly interface that also promotes health and wellness. Users can earn MY Himawari Points by participating in annual health check-ups, meeting weekly step goals, and engaging in daily health activities like simple health checks and health missions.

With the new feature, users can convert their MY Himawari Points into V Points, thus broadening the rewards available for customers inclined towards using V Points. A noteworthy exchange rate enables users to convert 1,000 MY Himawari Points into 80 V Points, among other tiered options of 5,000 and 10,000 points.

1. MY Himawari Points: 1,000 → V Points: 80
2. MY Himawari Points: 5,000 → V Points: 400

In addition, any exchanged V Points will be valid for six months from the day they are converted, making them a limited-time offer that can be utilized at numerous partner stores, both in Japan and around the globe. V Points can be spent at approximately 160,000 domestic sites and about 100 million Visa-affiliated locations worldwide, where 1 point equates to 1 yen.

How to Exchange Points:

1. Log into the MY Himawari app and tap the points icon.
2. Navigate to the point exchange site and select V Points from the options.
3. Choose the amount of points to exchange and finalize the transaction.
4. Check the issued gift code in the product list and login to the V Point gift code application site.
5. Enter the code and select the button to acquire points.

Points will be credited immediately upon gift code issuance and application on the site, with a five-month deadline for gift code application.
