About Yokohama Ippinko

Founded in 1955 in Yokohama's Noge district, Yokohama Ippinko has earned a reputation as the origin of Yokohama Tanmen. The establishment started with a humble three-tatami mat space and only nine counter seats. Following World War II, a chef who returned from Manchuria replicated the local culinary flavors, and over the years, the restaurant has continued to be cherished by generations of "Hamako" (Yokohama locals). Upholding the founding spirit that emphasizes crafting each dish with care and dedication, Ippinko's flagship dish, the "Original Tanmen," has been beloved in Yokohama for over half a century.
