SINEXCEL Launches Latvia's Largest Wind Energy Storage Project with a 1,725kW PCS

SINEXCEL Launches Latvia's Largest Wind Energy Storage Project

SINEXCEL, a leading Tier 1 power inverter manufacturer recognized by BloombergNEF for 2026, has recently launched the largest energy storage project for wind energy in Latvia, showcasing its commitment to renewable solutions. The company has supplied twelve 1,725 kW power conversion systems (PCS) for the groundbreaking energy storage installation situated alongside the Tārgale wind farm. This facility, featuring a 20.64 MWh battery storage system, has already begun successful commercial operations.

A Milestone for Renewable Energy in the Baltic Region

Designed to actively participate in the local frequency balancing market, this installation marks a significant milestone as it becomes the first in the Baltic region to obtain certification for all frequency regulation services. This achievement not only enhances grid stability but also advances the integration of renewable energies in Baltic countries, proving instrumental in the region’s journey towards cleaner energy capabilities.

Efficiency and Reliability of the PCS 1,725kW

The 1,725 kW power converter from SINEXCEL boasts an impressive maximum conversion efficiency of 98.5%. With response times measured in milliseconds, the PCS provides essential network balancing services such as frequency regulation, voltage control, and resilience against power dips and surges. Built to endure challenging operational environments, the system features IP54 protection and remains reliable across temperatures ranging from -20 °C to 60 °C. It holds CE, VDE 4110/4120, and EN 50549 certifications for European markets, alongside compliance certifications for power grids in the USA, Australia, Japan, and Thailand. This extensive certification underscores its adaptability across major utility markets globally.

Innovative Battery Connection and Maintenance Benefits

Featuring a smart battery connection design, the PCS prevents circulating currents between parallel groups, which significantly extends battery lifespan. Its fully modular architecture enables individual power module replacements on-site without necessitating system shutdowns, thereby minimizing downtime during maintenance and reducing long-term operational costs.

Proven Technology with Global Impact

The Tārgale project reinforces the commercial momentum of the 1,725 kW energy storage system. So far, global shipments of this system have surpassed 1 GW, a testament to its reliability and adaptability across various regulatory and climatic environments. This installation strengthens SINEXCEL's credibility in providing energy storage solutions for large-scale projects worldwide.

Commitment to Clean Energy Transition

Establishing its role as a trusted partner in the global energy storage market, SINEXCEL stands out with certifications across more than 40 countries and has successfully installed 17 GW/50 GWh across over 5,000 projects with 10 global service centers. The company actively promotes the acceleration of clean energy transitions around the globe.
