Celebrating 15 Years of Piyorin: A Sweet Journey at Kawaguchi Station
On July 1, 2026, Piyorin will proudly commemorate its 15th anniversary as a beloved brand produced by JR Central Food Service. This delightful chick-shaped sweet has captured the hearts of many since its debut. To mark this special milestone, various initiatives will take place, including a new product launch called 'Piyorin TOICA', promising to enhance the celebratory atmosphere surrounding Piyorin’s journey.
One of the standout features of this anniversary is the decorative makeover of Kawaguchi Station, located on the Chuo Line—the very gateway to the town where Piyorin originated. The station will be adorned with captivating illustrations of Piyorin, inviting visitors to experience the charm and significance of the brand firsthand. As travelers arrive at Kawaguchi Station, they will be greeted by the playful imagery of Piyorin, inspiring them to explore this joyous celebration.
Decorating Kawaguchi Station
Kawaguchi Station, situated in Kasugai City, Aichi Prefecture, is strategically located near the Piyorin Atelier, the sole production facility for Piyorin. The attached shop, 'Piyorin Shop Atelier', is a popular destination for customers, consistently attracting many visitors.
The intention behind decorating the station is to inform passengers that Piyorin is locally produced and to cultivate a sense of community. The area around the ticket gates will be embellished with Piyorin illustrations, showcasing Piyorin's connection to the station and helping visitors to feel closer to this regional treasure.
Decoration will run from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, encompassing the vicinity of the ticket gate at Kawaguchi Station. The design creatively integrates Piyorin’s likeness with the imagery of the 315 series trains that operate on the Chuo Line. This collaboration aims to foster awareness about Piyorin’s local craftsmanship and flavor, combined with the delightful aesthetics of this sweet treat, characterized by its fluffy sponge and creamy pudding center.
Special decoration will be featured on walls, pillars, ceilings, and automatic ticket machines, immersing visitors in a world filled with Piyorin, making the experience unforgettable. This will be the first time Piyorin has been showcased in a station decoration, marking a historic moment.
Upcoming Events for Piyorin's 15th Anniversary
In addition to station decor, more exciting events are planned throughout June as part of the anniversary celebrations. On June 15, an immersive eat-in cafe and retail area named 'Piyorin Village' will open in the central concourse of Nagoya Station, allowing guests to dive into the delightful Piyorin experience.
Furthermore, on June 18, the 'NAKAGAWA CANAL DOORS', a multi-functional facility comprising a hotel, restaurant, and sports amenities, will debut along the Nakagawa Canal in Nagoya City. A giant Piyorin balloon, approximately 7 meters tall, will grace the main entrance, funded through a crowdfunding campaign, symbolizing Piyorin's expanding influence.
This celebration also anticipates the release of a special 15th-anniversary Piyorin product in July. Details for this release will be shared soon. In the autumn, a refreshing walking event themed around Piyorin will commence, starting from Kawaguchi Station, engaging community members and creating further enjoyment.
