Set against the backdrop of a historic Venetian palace near the Rialto Bridge, this unique event is scheduled from May 7 to 9, coinciding perfectly with the bustling inaugural week of the 2026 Biennale.

A Needed Retreat

The Venice Biennale attracts collectors, curators, artists, and journalists from around the globe, making it one of the most vibrant yet demanding weeks in the art calendar. Calm Café, however, seeks to offer a vital counterpoint by providing a space dedicated to disconnection and tranquility. Open to the public for free, the café invites visitors to step back from the constant flow of events and exhibitions, allowing them the chance to recharge or find solace in silence.

Located in the new Versatile headquarters on Seconda de la Fava Street, the Calm Café unfolds in intimate settings that include a central lounge, private rooms, and a terrace overlooking the picturesque canal. This design concept encourages a gentle flow of movement, where visitors can engage in revitalizing experiences at their own pace. During the Biennale opening, the central lounge will also serve as a dedicated media space for journalists, providing a moment of respite amidst their hectic schedules.

Mindful Experiences Await

Visitors are invited to explore a meticulously curated menu of relaxing rituals designed to awaken the senses. These activities include breathing exercises guided by hourglasses, journaling prompts, and sensory kits filled with eye masks, earplugs, and grounding elements such as lavender and comforting stones. Each ritual is intended to encourage mindfulness and presence in the moment.

Additional programming during this three-day event encompasses morning yoga, watercolor sessions, and live sound baths.
