Monster Energy Dominates BMX Podium at 2026 Recon Tour Opener
At the first stop of the 2026 Monster Army Recon Tour held at Clairemont Skatepark in San Diego on April 25, Monster Energy proved its strength in the BMX scene, with its team riders achieving remarkable success.
Bryce Tryon emerged victorious, claiming the top spot in the Pro Men's division despite challenging weather conditions that disrupted the final event.
Unfortunately, the Pro Men's final had to be canceled due to rain, but the results reflected the qualifying scores, solidifying Tryon's win after he laid down two impressive runs during the qualifiers. He expressed his excitement, stating, "I got my start in the Recon Tour as an amateur, and to take the win in San Diego as a pro feels amazing!" His teammate,
Brady Baker, secured the second position, while
Kaden Stone rounded out the podium in third place, marking a successful commencement of the 2026 BMX season for Monster Energy.
In the Sport Class division, which showcases emerging talents in BMX, Monster Army's
Aaden Reed excelled, delivering standout performances with a flawless alleyoop 540 flair alongside a 360 flip maneuver. Following him was
Ronan Fazio, who showcased strength and creativity with a massive footplant transfer and a clean flair barspin, finishing in second place. Reed shared his enthusiasm, saying, "Stoked to pull the run I wanted and start off the season with a win!"
Additionally, the Pro Women's division saw another Monster Army rider,
Saige Thunstrom, take second place with a strong run. Her performance included impressive tricks such as a truckdriver on a step-up and a one-handed table on the hip. This event showcased not only the skill of seasoned riders but also the promising future of BMX in the younger generation.
As the 2026 Monster Army Recon Tour gains momentum, riders and fans can look forward to the next stop on May 30 at
Premises Park in
Tucson, Arizona. The competition is poised to bring more thrilling BMX action and exceptional performances.
