Annual Reindeer Romp Returns to Havertown in 2025
The much-loved
Reindeer Romp is making its return to Havertown on December 13, 2025. This spirited event includes a
5K run and a
1-mile walk, celebrating the incredible community spirit while raising funds for a vital cause. This year, participants will run in memory of Brandon Lake, a cherished young member of the community who lost his life to cancer in 1999, and Matt Aber, a long-time committee member who passed away from the same illness in 2021.
A Tradition of Giving
Since its inception, the Reindeer Romp has been dedicated to fighting cancer, with
100% of proceeds being donated directly to the
American Cancer Society. Over the years, the partnership with the Society has yielded almost
$600,000 in financial support for various cancer initiatives, particularly benefiting the
Hope Lodge in Cheltenham, a free accommodation facility for cancer patients in the Philadelphia area.
Greg Paone, the Philadelphia Director at the American Cancer Society, expressed his gratitude: “We are thrilled to continue this nearly three-decade partnership that has allowed participants to make a significant impact on our community.”
Sponsorship and Community Involvement
The event is proudly sponsored by
Nolan Painting, which has been a pivotal supporter since 2000, contributing both financial and manpower support. More than
100 volunteers from the company will assist throughout the race as marshals, embodying their community-driven philosophy through the
Nolan in the Neighborhood initiative.
Race founder and director
Kevin J. Nolan has passionately led the Reindeer Romp since its beginning, along with significant involvement in the local community. The event also sees sponsorship from many other local businesses, which help ensure that registration fees go directly toward cancer research without any deductions for event expenses.
