Honda Campus All-Star Challenge: Celebrating Excellence
The Honda Campus All-Star Challenge (HCASC) has been a hallmark event celebrating the brilliance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) for nearly four decades. This year marks its 37th edition, a journey that began in 1989. The competition not only showcases academic talent but also builds a community focused on educational achievement and cultural pride.
An Event of Grand Proportions
This year, the HCASC will feature 32 HBCU teams, all of whom have qualified for the prestigious National Championship Tournament held in Torrance, California. This exciting tournament will take place on April 16, where these teams will vie for the championship title and share in over $500,000 in grants awarded by Honda. The victorious team will walk away with a grand prize of $100,000, all while celebrating excellence in education and leadership.
A Legacy of Support for HBCUs
Since its inception, HCASC has impacted the lives of over 180,000 HBCU students, aiding them in achieving their aspirations. Jasmine Cockfield, the HCASC project lead at American Honda Motor Co., Inc., highlights Honda's commitment to fostering the legacy of HBCUs through this competition. The HCASC not only rewards academic excellence but also provides scholarships, mentorship, and invaluable experiences that help students evolve into future leaders.
