Fukushima Incarnate and Naraha Town Launch 'Golden Forest Supporter Program' for Community Revival

Introduction to the Golden Forest Supporter Program

In a vibrant collaboration aimed at reviving local communities, Fukushima Incarnate, a regional company backed by Naraha Town, has unveiled the 'Golden Forest Supporter Program.' This innovative initiative is part of Naraha's vision to establish itself as a prominent producer of yuzu. With plans set in motion for the largest yuzu orchard in Tohoku, this program not only aims to cultivate this citrus fruit but also seeks to foster ongoing connections between supporters and the local community, contributing to population growth and economic revitalization following the Great East Japan Earthquake.

The Golden Forest Project: A New Beginning in Naraha

Come May 2026, Naraha is set to plant around 1,000 young yuzu trees, marking the birth of what will become one of the largest yuzu orchards in the Tohoku region. This initiative has garnered significant media attention, highlighting the project's importance to the community. Following these initial plantings, there are plans for an additional 2,000 trees to be planted in a different area starting from the fiscal year 2027, further enhancing the development of the 'Golden Forest.' This project is envisioned to grow as a community asset, supported by both local residents and nationwide supporters.

'Golden Forest Supporter Program' Details

The program aims to enlist 200 supporters in its inaugural year, with recruitment starting from July 17, 2026, to October 25, 2026. Fukushima Incarnate will spearhead this recruitment effort, working closely with Naraha Town to engage both local and previous residents who relocated after the 2011 disaster, thus nurturing new ties with their hometown. Depending on the response, the number of supporters may increase.

Supporters will enjoy various perks that connect them to Naraha throughout the year, including:
  • - Delivery of yuzu products
  • - Access to processed yuzu products
  • - Regular growth updates on the yuzu trees
  • - Participation in local events and harvest experiences

The annual fee of ¥10,000 will be invested directly into the management of the yuzu field and programs fostering community engagement in the 'Golden Forest' project.

About Fukushima Incarnate and the PA Group

The PA Group operates under the mission of gathering people in the community, creating vibrancy, and empowering local residents. Their business model revolves around 'Community x Talent x Co-creation,' driving regional revitalization efforts nationwide. By partnering with local governments and businesses, they focus on generating population exchange and promoting industry while addressing regional challenges through innovative solutions.

A significant aspect of their work includes their collaboration with Naraha Town, which experienced full evacuation due to proximity to the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant during the tsunami. The relocation of the PA Group's corporate headquarters from Tokyo to Naraha is a testament to their commitment to contributing to recovery efforts. Utilizing regional resources like yuzu, they are dedicated to building new connections with both locals and outsiders, showcasing the unique offerings of Naraha across Japan.

In this project, Fukushima Incarnate will focus on product development, information dissemination regarding yuzu, and encouraging participation in hometown registrations and local events to widen the population exchanges, thus revitalizing economic flows within Naraha.
