Yayoi's Latest Updates on Tax Filing Software for 2025
Yayoi Inc., headquartered in Chiyoda City, Tokyo, has announced a significant update to its desktop software,
Yayoi Blue Return 26, providing enhancements for the 2025 income tax return season. The update allows users to integrate with the
My Number Portal, streamlining the process of collecting tax deduction certificates electronically in XML format. This advancement is aimed at reducing the administrative burden for individual business owners when filing their tax returns.
Starting from February 16, 2026, taxpayers can utilize these new features with the latest form updates, making the filing process more efficient and user-friendly.
Minimizing the Burden of Tax Returns
Collecting deduction certificates and manual data entry are often the most daunting tasks in preparing tax returns. Many customers experience frustration, apprehension, or find the process overly complicated. To alleviate these challenges, Yayoi has worked diligently alongside the National Tax Agency and the Digital Agency to promote the standardization and digitization of deduction certificates issued by insurance companies, securities firms, and local governments. The company aims to drastically reduce user input errors and the need for manual entries.
Accurate deduction certificates are critical since discrepancies can directly affect tax obligations. Therefore, the ability to automatically retrieve and input data presents a significant improvement for users, contributing not only to the ease of completing tax returns but also enhancing accuracy. This upgrade caters to both novices and experienced filers, allowing a smoother progression through the tax filing landscape.
Key Features of the Update
The recent enhancements include:
Online Retrieval of Deduction Certificates via My Number Portal
With integration into the
My Number Portal, users can now obtain various deduction certificates, such as life insurance premium deduction certificates and national pension insurance premium deduction certificates, directly online. This reduces the need for physical documents and minimizes manual entry errors. However, it is worth noting that certificates like “donation receipt” issued by local authorities are not included.
Support for Electronic Deduction Certificates (XML Format)
The software now supports the import of XML data for deduction certificates issued by health insurance unions, local governments, and other portals. By simply uploading the file, essential information will be populated automatically. This correlates with the government's initiative to standardize formats comprehensively, allowing for more user-friendly deduction entry. Again, the “donation receipt” is not included.
Compliance with Revised Regulations
This update aligns with the latest income tax return forms for the 2025 tax year, which includes:
- - Increased basic deductions
- - Adjusted salary income deductions
- - Introduction of a special deduction for specific relatives
- - Amendments to the income requirements for dependent relatives
- - Extension of the special deduction for housing loans linked to child support
- - Removal of the fixed-rate tax reduction section

The rollout of these updates for various products is scheduled as follows:
