Pierre Fabre's Global Initiative for Breast Cancer Awareness
Pierre Fabre Laboratories has embarked on a significant global initiative in partnership with the Know Your Lemons Foundation, timed to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. This collaboration underscores the commitment both organizations have towards breast cancer prevention and the crucial goal of fostering early detection through innovative and accessible education.
Founded in 2014 by Corrine Ellsworth Beaumont, the Know Your Lemons Foundation is dedicated to educating the public about breast cancer. Drawing from her personal experiences and professional background in health communication, Beaumont developed a creative and engaging approach that uses the image of lemons to convey critical information. Each of the twelve lemons depicts a potential symptom of breast cancer, forming the core of the foundation’s educational tools, which include an award-winning mobile app recognized at the esteemed 2025 Webby Awards for internet excellence.
Currently, Know Your Lemons stands out as the only international organization solely focused on early detection education. The impact of its mission is remarkable, having reached over one billion individuals across more than 100 countries. Thanks to over 800 enthusiastic volunteer educators, affectionately called “lemonistas,” the foundation has successfully trained over 50,000 people around the world. Its resources are available in more than 30 languages, highlighting its commitment to inclusivity and making a lasting impact on diverse communities.
To bolster this essential message, Pierre Fabre Laboratories will organize a variety of educational events worldwide throughout October. These initiatives will feature interactive webinars, multilingual brochures tailored to local audiences, and the distribution of exclusive t-shirts that depict the twelve warning signs of breast cancer. Employees of Pierre Fabre are encouraged to wear these t-shirts and share the campaign's message on social media to further promote awareness about breast health.
As Nuria Perez-Cullell, Medical and Patient Director at Pierre Fabre Laboratories, articulates, "At Pierre Fabre Laboratories, we firmly believe that health education can transform lives. Our partnership with the Know Your Lemons Foundation reflects our commitment to supporting everyone, everywhere, to better understand the signs of breast cancer and to act early. By joining forces, we are advancing prevention and empowering everyone to take charge of their health."
The initiative is a vital step in fulfilling the goal of educating the public on the importance of early cancer detection. By combining resources and expertise, Pierre Fabre Laboratories and the Know Your Lemons Foundation aim to empower individuals with the knowledge necessary to take proactive steps regarding their health. This campaign is not just an observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month; it represents a concerted effort to enhance awareness and education surrounding breast cancer prevention on a global scale.
