Envision Energy Advances Wind Energy Market in Southeast Europe: Major Project Secures Funding

Envision Energy, recognized as a global leader in sustainable technologies, is marking a significant milestone in the development of wind energy in Southeast Europe. Recently, the company announced that the first phase of its Štip wind farm in North Macedonia, boasting a capacity of 131.25 MW, has successfully secured financing. This project, developed in partnership with Alcazar Energy Partners (AEP), emerges as the largest wind energy endeavor in the country to date, underscoring Envision's growing role in shaping the renewable energy landscape in the region.

The Štip wind farm is designed to be completed in three phases, ultimately enabling a total capacity of 396 MW. Once fully operational, it is expected to quadruple the existing installed wind power capacity in North Macedonia, significantly contributing to the country’s transition from a coal-based energy system towards a more resilient and sustainable energy model.

Envision is set to provide 21 EN182 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 6.25 MW, leveraging its globally proven large-scale wind power technologies and extensive construction experience. Standing at a hub height of 120 meters, the EN182 turbines are among Europe's largest onshore wind turbines, optimizing energy yield and enhancing project efficiency.

The funding for the project is backed by a long-term power purchase agreement with a rated multinational corporation, ensuring the farm will operate on a private off-take basis. This commercial orientation sets a vital precedent for investing in renewable energy sources across Southeast Europe, demonstrating how advanced technologies and stable commercial foundations can pave the way for developing clean energy resources.

Recognized as fully bankable by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which is part of the World Bank Group, and Erste Group Bank AG, the largest banking group in Austria, the funding reinforces Envision's international bankability and positions the company as a trusted technology partner for extensive investments in renewables throughout Europe.

Kane Xu, Senior Vice President and President of Envision Energy’s International Products Council, highlighted that the Štip wind farm is a significant milestone for Envision in Europe, combining proven wind turbine technology, commercial scalability, and enduring system value in one of the region's most important renewable energy projects. He emphasized that beyond adding new capacity, the project illustrates how advanced wind energy can enhance the resilience of the energy system, improve sector competitiveness, and support broader economic transformation.

As the project moves into construction, the commitment to North Macedonia and belief in the potential of renewable energy remains steadfast. Envision is dedicated to transforming this joint ambition into clean, accessible electricity, job creation, and lasting economic value for local communities. Moreover, the Štip project exemplifies the achievements possible through strong partnerships, setting an essential standard for the advancement of renewable energy in the broader region. Daniel Lancha, a partner at Alcazar Energy Partners, expressed pride in the project’s advancement into the construction phase, reinforcing the company's commitment to North Macedonia’s energy future.

By pursuing innovative and substantial initiatives like the Štip wind farm, Envision Energy is not only advancing its mission to create sustainable energy solutions but also contributing significantly to the ongoing energy transition in Southeast Europe. With a clear vision for the future, Envision continues to lead the charge, showcasing that renewable energy can drive economic growth and environmental sustainability together. In this rapidly changing energy landscape, projects like Štip stand as testament to what is achievable with collaboration, innovation, and commitment to local communities.
