Unlocking Business Opportunities Through Sustainability Dialogue and Workshops

Explore New Business Insights Through Sustainability

Is your business ready to embrace sustainability but unsure how to start? Are you overwhelmed by jargon and technical terminologies? Do concepts like sustainability and the SDGs seem distant from your everyday business realities? If so, you're not alone. Our upcoming seminar, titled “Is Sustainability a Business Opportunity? New Value Creation Through Co-Creation,” is designed just for you.

Scheduled for March 2, this event is particularly suitable for small businesses looking to incorporate sustainable practices without the heavy burden of prior knowledge. With only 15 spots available for free, attendees will engage in meaningful dialogue and hands-on workshops that emphasize practical insights rather than abstract theories.

Seminar Overview

Part 1: Understanding Sustainability in Business

The first segment of the event will feature a comprehensive introduction to current environmental trends. Led by Kuniko Sekine, an environmental counselor and the CEO of Koreyakono, attendees will demystify commonly used industry terms. The discussion will provide clarity on why sustainability is no longer a nice-to-have but a must-have for businesses today. We will also highlight several examples from trailblazing small businesses that have successfully integrated sustainable practices into their operations, empowering participants to gather actionable insights that can be directly applied to their endeavors.

Featured Experts:

  • - Kuniko Sekine (Koreyakono CEO) – Environmental counselor and forest instructor with 12 years at Starbucks focusing on environmental initiatives.
  • - Shuta Nakamura (Circloop CEO) – Formerly at major companies like KDDI, he founded Circloop to promote reusable container sharing in collaboration with restaurants and municipalities.
  • - Shingo Kajita (comvey CEO) – Focuses on providing reusable packaging systems for E-commerce businesses.
  • - Tomonobu Shigeta (PHI CEO) – Created a platform to promote recycling education through community and sustainable practices.

Part 2: Workshop Session

The second part will shift towards an interactive workshop format. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their business's strengths and environmental impacts, exploring what new initiatives they wish to start for a sustainable future. The aim is to catalyze idea exchange among diverse participants, uncovering new value propositions and co-creation opportunities beyond individual capacities. Led by Chinayo Tanabe from Koreyakono, this session focuses on translating strategic reflections into concrete actions that can launch the participants’ journey toward sustainability.

Special Tour Opportunity

At the same time, a limited guided tour of the Tokyo Port City Takeshiba, a space focused on biodiversity, will be available for interested participants. Experience firsthand the emerging concept of 'Nature Positive' and how new-age office buildings are adapting to promote coexistence with nature.
