Reflecting on his new position, McLaughlin stated, "WFUV has been a cornerstone of my life since my college days, and I know firsthand how transformative this station is for students discovering their potential. We have an incredible team, a passionately loyal community of listeners, and a vibrant connection to New York's cultural fabric. I am honored to lead WFUV as we continue championing music discovery, mentoring our students, and finding creative new ways to serve our community."
With a robust background in media, McLaughlin comes equipped with 25 years of experience in broadcasting and digital media. His previous positions include senior leadership roles at significant organizations like Amazon Music and iHeartRadio. His leadership has solidified WFUV's identity as a prime destination for music discovery. Following his tenure as program director, he took on the role of associate general manager, focusing on the station's vision, programming strategy, partnerships, and innovation in content delivery.
Under McLaughlin's guidance, WFUV has notably expanded its reach, attracting nearly 400,000 weekly listeners in the region. The station has also achieved remarkable financial success, surpassing $4 million in annual membership revenue for the first time in its history.
